Hi Everyone! I am just wondering out of curiosity ( playing a bit of a guessing game) if anyone could tell me if they had a baby who weighed more or less 2.1 kg at 34 weeks ( midwife estimate ) how much did baby weigh when born?
At 28 weeks I was sent for a growth scan because they thought I was measuring small but sonographer said baby was perfectly fine just on the smaller side. Today at 34 i was measuring 33 and estimated fetal weight is around 2,/2.2 kg so just wondering if anyone has had something similar ...how much did baby weigh at birth? I'm trying to guess how big or small my baby will be haha

Mine was about that at a growth scan at 34 weeks and on my growth scan at 37 weeks she was a estimated to be 2.8kg. They reckon she’ll be about 3.5kg at birth. DS was 4kg so that seems tiny! He was measuring about 2kg at 32 weeks though.

If you’re just going off midwife measurements, it’s entirely meaningless. And I say this as a midwife 😂 what might be slightly more of a good guesstimate is looking at what centile baby was measuring on at your growth scan and seeing what the estimated weight would be for that centile at term.

@PolarBearStrength thank you for your reply!
How much weight do babies put on per week in this stage? Sorry taking advantage of the fact you’re a midwife 😂 When I was born I was 2.8kg! I’m worrying about having to push out a big baby😂a few weeks ago I was worrying baby was too small hahah can’t win!!

@ClaireCanale123 They say about half a pound per week so 225gish? Growth scans are also notoriously inaccurate to be fair, although having a few seems to make it a bit more consistent.
