How did labour start for you?

I’m 39+6 due date is tomorrow. Woke up to back pain and period pains at around 2am (after a day of lots of cervix aching pressure) and can’t get back to sleep. The pain is coming in waves but no actual tightenings... could this be it? How did your labour start?

Currently similar! Heavy pelvic feeling for a few days and mild period aches. One day “overdue” now, had a sweep 2 days ago, had some mild cramps which then stopped, started again last night, woke me up a few times tonight/morning. Just been for a wee and then I think I’ve lost some waters. Lost some plug too.
Going to try and sleep some more then shower and call hospital as meant to be being induced at 8am!

Oh and mines coming in waves, starts low and goes into back. Like a cross between wind, period, and backache!

@Hatscats That’s exactly how I would describe my pains. I’ve had a few times that have lead to nothing once I’ve woken up but it’s that bad I can’t actually get back to sleep! Hopefully the start of something for both of us and good luck with the induction today (if it’s even needed) :)

Ooh... I have back ache I thought and it took me a while to realise it was coming and going!

Going to call in a bit, I feel a bit daft asking am I in labour? Haha! Also not sure if it was my waters but assume so, getting stronger “contractions” since.
Good luck, hopefully things are happening! 😀

I was getting waves of backache the night before DD2 was born. They were pretty strong and painful but no real tightenings. They seemed to disappear by the next morning. I started getting mildly painful contractions at around midday and they quickly increased to full on labour.

It’s sounding promising for you. Good luck.
