MW thinks i may have one but until 20 week scan she can't confirm obv. I am 17 weks and been having little movements but wanted to know when the movements are more obvious?

This is my third child and the otehr 2 were wriggling away merrily by now and after a mmc its quite scary to not feel the same at this stage!
are movements muffled right through pregnancy?

I had a low anterior placenta. It is the only successful pregnancy I have had though so don't have anything to compare it to. I didn't feel DD move until 23 weeks. I do remember though that they always used to have trouble finding her heartbeat because of the placenta. DD is fine though!

Hi mumofmonsters - ds2 had an anterior placenta, the movements do become more obvious, but they were significantly later than the other two had been. Sometimes the orientation of the baby can affect how obvious movements are - so if it is kicking towards your back it isn't so easily felt as if it's landing its feet in your tummy!

the HB was tricky to find a few weeks ago but at last mw appt (16 wks) she found it straight away so its hopefully not low lying placenta.

My placenta is anterior and high apparently - I'm 37 weeks now. It hasn't made finding the hb that difficult but it did mean it took ages for DH to be able to feel the movements. Don't worry about it!

the consultant at the private scan i had done said it was anterior (12 1/2 weeks) at my 14 week nhs scan they just said it was extensive and nothing was said about the position. i think i can feel this one moving (17 weeks) but not 100%, i was never 100% with my last 2 till i reached 18 weeks and saw my stomach move. it could be an anterior plac. or this one just might not be as wiggly
