Anyone else suffering? I haven't had it confirmed as waiting for my useless GP to get back to me, which I don't think will happen.

Any advice how to cure it myself? I'm up about 10 times a night or more at the moment and it's getting me down so much, I'm scared it's going to be like this for the rest of the pregnancy Haloween Sad

Contact your midwife. I think you're supposed to have antibiotics because UTIs increase your risk of miscarriage. Well, that's what my midwife reckoned anyway.

Yep, I’ve got one too :( Just about to go pick up my antibiotics. I didn’t even have to do a wee test, just called the GP, they called me back for a telephone appt and they were satisfied that my symptoms were a UTI so have sent an electronic prescription. I would get checked out ASAP, UTI’s can quickly turn into kidney infections. Hope you feel better soon x

I had one (or 2 - who knows!) over a month and had to try two different anti-biotics to shift it. I find if I drink gallons (and I mean pint after pint after pint) of water it usually relieves the discomfort when you do go and will be flushing out your system.

Thanks Daisy, I drank about 2 pints of cranberry juice yesterday and it seems to be helping already, fingers crossed

@KylieKangaroo Try Waterfall D-Mannose; it's a natural supplement and safe in pregnancy. You can try it to treat the infection and/or after clearing the infection with antibiotics you can take it daily as a preventative. I've suffered UTIs since I was sexually active and they're really hotting up in pregnancy so I can tell you this one works! Oh and avoid sugar like the plague - the bacteria in your bladder feed off it and multiply. So I never drink cranberry juice for that reason but you can get cranberry extract if that works for you. Good luck - they're the worst!
