I think I may have a hole in my tooth so I have a dentist appointment today the dentist said I would have a temporary filling when I searched online I'm not seeing much info if it's safe or not and yes the dentist knows I'm pregnant I'm 27weeks

Temporary white fillings are considered safer than actual grey fillings, this is because there’s a lot of mercury in normal grey fillings

Hi, you should be fine. They wouldn't do it of they didn't need to, especially at the moment.
Depending on which tooth it is, they may use a composite filing (tooth coloured) instead of metal. I am pregnant and I have a couple of metal fillings at the back

Hey this happened to me, I'm 40 weeks now but when it was in lockdown an old filling broke 🤢
It was a silver one I got when I was very young. I called the dentist when they first opened, he replaced the filling with white one and had no issues. It was very straight forward and I had no complications and he didnt say anything about risks with me being pregnant. I went in earlier than everyone else because I was considered high risk due to covid but that was about it.

Hey I work in a dental practice and we have lots of pregnant ladies who have to have fillings. They don’t advise x-rays in pregnancy due to the radiation but fillings should be fine ☺️

Yes it’s safe .
