I have been experiencing some pink brown discharge and seem to be getting no where with the mod wife or epu so tempted to pay for a private scan however my 12 weeks scan is due in the next couple of weeks, is there a limit to how close together scans can be? I don't want to get one then mess up when I get the appointment through from the NHS but obviously would like to know what's going on as soon as, tia

There are no rules about how close together scans can be as far as I am aware.
I had a scan on a Friday (due to bleeding) then my 12 week scan on the Tuesday.
Good luck x

Did you tell the person at the 12 week scan you'd had one a few days before? When i was due with my little boy I had to have loads of extra scans but they had to wait for one as they said it was too close to the last one I had had but I was full term at that point

Any HCP monitoring will prefer decent gaps between scans to compare growth because the changes are so tiny that I don’t think they can get a proper indication without time passing (mine were every 2 weeks to monitor growth). But there is no reason why you shouldn’t have a private ‘wellbeing’ scan close to usual 12 week scan. Where are you? If in London I can’t recommend The Fetal Medicine Centre highly enough (you will find this unanimous if you search past threads Smile)

Yes they knew I had recently been scanned. The scan on the Friday was to find out if I had miscarried. The scan on the Tuesday was the official 12 week scan when they confirmed dates/ measured Nuchal fold etc.
