Hello lovely people,
So quick question. I am currently 5 weeks, I have booked a private scan for 7 weeks as I'm too impatient to wait to my 12 week scan.
What I want to know is how clear are they? How much can you see at this early stage? Will I see a heartbeat? Also Is this done as an abdominal scan or is it trans vaginal?
Smilethanks guys

Here is mine at just over 7 weeks! We saw heartbeat 💗 it was lovely! It was abdominal too. X

I had a scan at 7 weeks 3 days. We could see a good strong heartbeat fluttering away. The baby is still pretty tiny but we could make out the head and body and the yolk sac.

I was expecting it to be transvaginal but the sonographer was able to take all the measurements via an abdominal scan.

I hope your scan goes well, we found it really reassuring. I was too impatient to wait for the 12 week scan!

@Suite88 Awh that's so lovely to hear! I'm so excited to go and see that little heart. It is such a long wait for someone as impatient as me lol! But I'm so glad to hear that the 7 week scan is worth it!

We didn't hear heartbeat as this was an nhs scan (due to spotting) and i haven't been able to hear heartbeat at any of these, however heard it loud and clear at the private scan, so I'm sure you will! It was easy to see on the 7 week scan though! And sonographer was pleased with rate etc x

These were my scans at 6, 8, 10 & 12 weeks, just to give you an idea of how it might look.
(I had regular scans because of previous multiple miscarriages).

I had one at 8 weeks and I could see heartbeat clearly and looked like a little jelly bean. Didn’t hear the heartbeat until 24 weeks. They won’t try until at least 16 weeks to hear it.

Rosieposie07 · 18/10/2020 20:05

@Oneandabean oh I didn't realise you had to wait that long for the heart beat! That is so exciting tho I just want to see that everything is ok ☺️ can be such an anxious time

Here’s our little bean at 6+4 (I’m now 10 weeks).. I’d booked an early scan for 8 weeks but had a scare so moved it forward after a awful experience at EPU. Bubba had a strong heartbeat and we could see it flickering away. If I hadn’t have had the scare I would’ve definitely waited until 8 weeks as I had to go back to EPU at 8 weeks and scan was so much clearer (they don’t do pics though!). My scans at 5 weeks and 6+4 were both TV but the 8 weeks was abdominal.

The area to the left isn’t another bubba.. it’s a hematoma (reason for my scare!) and I’m hoping that’s gone at the 12 week scan next Thursday.

Good luck ❤️🥰
