First trimester - starving all the time

I’m 9 weeks and I’ve put on 5lb already. My stomach feeling like it’s eating itself every couple of hours, and I feel sick. The only way to stop it is to eat. I’m only full for 2 hours though and it starts again.

My BMI was only 21 so I don’t usually eat this way.

Is/has anyone had the same? Does it get better? I didn’t have this with my son so I’m wondering if it’s a girl.

Most people find by the second trimester, this feeling reduces or goes away a lot. Don’t panic, the first trimester is all about eating what you can and when you can, little and often. If your BMI was fine before, you’ll probably find weight gain stabilises as your nausea stops, it takes time. I’ve barely eaten due to nausea, but still gained weight as my boobs are over twice the size! (AA now a B) I didn’t have sickness as badly first time around either, but this time it’s vomiting a few times a day, lightheartedness and nausea. Hope it doesn’t take too long, I think 9 weeks is often the peak (I’m also 9 weeks) and after that it tends to calm down.
