Find out the sex or not?

What did you do? What are your plans? I had always thought it would be good to know beforehand but I'm now thinking of leaving it until the birth so it's a surprise - I guess it'll be difficult when I go for the second scan to resist asking.

Didn't find out with either.

not sure how I would have prepared differently for a boy than for a girl? Other than go down the very gendered pink or blue route and I didn’t want to do that anyway
This. We decorated a nursery for DC1 in duck egg blue with curtains with farmyard animals on. Bought a load of sleepsuits in bright colours with stripes and patterns and dinosaurs and animals. The same decisions we would have made had we known the sex.

It could also mean there was suddenly more the one there. At the time of this scan I was coming out of a period of antenatal depression and being able to now envision a child rather than the faceless entity I had before helped me stay level through the rest of the pregnancy

We didn't want to go down a stereotypical gendered route. She got misgendered a lot in the hospital (and still does to be fair) because I bought all neutral or boys clothes because I preferred them. Immediate family were good and keep to fairly neutral or feminine but not out and out girly clothes. Extended family and family friends went full pink and unicorns and I'm fairly sure they were bought after she was born. You can't escape the attack of the pink/blue!

We found out. I wasn't gonna waste my time picking a girls name if it's a boy (and vice versa)
