Hi everyone. I’ve just found out I’m pregnant and want my partner to be the first person I tell. Unfortunately we’re apart for the next two weeks and I don’t want to tell him by phone or Zoom. This is my first pregnancy, I’m 36, and feeling so happy but also really worried. I can’t talk to my mum, sister or friends until I tell my partner! Does anyone want to buddy up and/or have any advice? I’d be so grateful! Smile

Hey ! Nice to meet you !

How many weeks are you x

Drmukti · 17/10/2020 06:35

Nice to meet you too! I’m five weeks. How about you? X

I will probably be the same but too afraid to test haha !

I never miss my period or have late cycles, but just don't want to yet as been TTC for past year and always negative! haha

Alrowley · 17/10/2020 06:42

What symptoms do you have ?

Drmukti · 17/10/2020 06:55

I was going to wait and test but couldn’t hold out! I really hope you are. I had very sore boobs (but I always get that before my period), I need to wee more (waking at least once a night) I felt a bit sick and tired, but that’s about it. If I hadn’t been trying I might not have noticed! I used Clearblue early detect test. When do you think you might test?

oooo congrats ! I think I will do it next week, I'll let you know ! I have 1 child and I tested around 5/6 weeks i think, so next week is defo the time !

I have also been waking once in the night to wee and having urgent bowel movements too hahahaha Not usual for me!

I have tingling nipples and boobs feel heavy but not painful and they always are before my period !

Alrowley · 17/10/2020 07:31

I think the reason I haven't tested as I keep getting that full / coming on feeling !

Drmukti · 17/10/2020 08:11

Yes, please do let me know! I'll be keeping everything crossed for you. It sounds as though you have different signs/symptoms to a normal period. I've had the bloating/full feeling and stomach cramps too. But no bleeding so far, even though I'm quite scared to look every time I go to the loo! I also had mild thrush a couple of weeks ago, which was unusual but I didn't think anything of it at the time. Now I know that was another sign.

I found the other group for June 2021 with loads of messages, I'll join that! Are you in it ?

Pol96 · 17/10/2020 10:40

@Drmukti Oh bless you! Are you going to plan a pregnancy reveal for him? Not telling people was so hard and I told my oh straight away so I can only imagine not having someone in real life to talk to about it all! Congratulations and I hope you have a smooth pregnancy op

Drmukti · 17/10/2020 10:57

@Alrowley I did join that group too, so will look forward to seeing you there! I don't know if we can add friends on here or anything? I've not used this before!

@Pol96 I am! I have ordered a personalised baby grow and am planning a mini treasure hunt when I get back. It's helping to focus on that! And thank you for your lovely good wishes ❤️

Test! I always feel like coming on more when I'm pregnant than when I'm not. It can be a pregnancy symptom.
Pol96 · 17/10/2020 11:05

@Drmukti Oh that's going to be so cute!! We did a personalised baby vest for our official announcement after the dating scan and combined test results 😊
I'm 26+2 today with a little boy 💙

Alrowley · 17/10/2020 11:09

@rorosemary hahahaha! I might I might! x

Drmukti · 17/10/2020 11:26

@Pol96 oh, congratulations! 💙

That's a lovely idea and I might do the same for friends/family once we're much further down the line. Great minds... 😉

Hey @rorosemary and @Drmukti I did a test today - just now and very dark positive.

Got some light cramps/stretching, like mild period pains but I had those with my first up to 8 weeks so not too worried

Some sharp one this morning, how you ?

Drmukti · 03/11/2020 09:16

Hi @AlRRRR! So sorry for the late reply, I didn't have notifications on!

Congratulations on your positive test!! How are you feeling now? I am back with my partner now, who is over the moon, but I'm suffering badly with feeling sick all the time. Hope your pains have disappeared?

OP posts:
AlRRRR · 03/11/2020 09:36

Oh yes all the pains have gone but I feel sick! hahahahaha

Drmukti · 07/11/2020 10:55

@AlRRRR I am really suffering with sickness too. Some days I couldn't move, but have tried the pressure point wrist bands and they are helping slightly. I recommend trying them if you're still feeling sick! Hope you're feeling a bit better though. Smile

AlRRRR · 07/11/2020 12:37

I feel sick during waking hours and find if I eat, i feel better, which is diff from 1st pregnancy where eating made me vomit! I just try to eat bland ish foods with a smoothie x
