Hi ladies, I was 2cm dilated yesterday and I'm currently 3-4cm dilated now!
Any advice on how long it takes to progress at all? This will be second baby nearly 7 years on from first ☺️
Had a second sweep around 3pm this afternoon and had the first one yesterday also around 3pm 🥰

Hi.
I was 3-4 cm with my DC2 after a second sweep. Unfortunately it took a third sweep 3 days later to really get it started (my waters broke the day after third sweep)
Hopefully you might start quicker. How far on are you?

ChlOeWh · 16/10/2020 20:55

Ah I hope it doesn't take too long, I'm booked to be induced on Tuesday and she said she'll be surprised if I last that long😊 I'm currently 39+1 and still 3-4 cm

Fingers crossed for you! I have very stubborn babies!! The other two had to be induced. DC1 was 16 days late!!
Hoping this one comes sooner as I will be induced at 40 weeks.

ChlOeWh · 17/10/2020 18:58

So I know bleeding/some blood after a sweep is normal never mind 2 but I was just wondering if having a clot is normal? It was only more or less the size of a 5p but I just wanted to double check for some advice because well.. you never know do you ☺️

Hi. If you haven't already I'd call your labour ward and let them know. Could it have been a bloody show/ mucus plug?
Hope you're ok.

ChlOeWh · 17/10/2020 22:29

Thank you, are you supposed to ring them if you have a bloody show? I don't know 😬 xx

I suppose it depends upon how you are feeling and whether you have had anymore bleeding. If it was mucus mixed with blood then you are probably ok to wait and see if anything else happens tonight. If you are having bleeding I would call.

Good morning. My body reacts slowly to labours and dilating which means I spend majority of my labours at home and going and froing from the hospital which is all in all , very frustrating.

With my 4th child I had a sweep and when she performed the sweep at 40 weeks, i was already 1 to 2cm dilated. I went into labour the next day and had her the day after, after a wonderful 32 hours labour. All pregnancies are different. I'd suggest dancing and going up and down the stairs to speed things up.

Hows things today....
Wishing you all the best and a happy, healthy baby
I'm 27 weeks tomorrow with baby number 5! Woohoo!

20viona · 18/10/2020 06:29

I went from 3cm to baby in arms in two hours.

ChlOeWh · 18/10/2020 09:34

Morning ladies.. still no baby, still had no pains, twinges or anything at all 🤷🏼‍♀️ it's just a pain knowing I was 3-4 Cm and can't just pop up and get checked to see if I've dilated anymore 😂 being induced on Tuesday so we'll see if I get there 😂

Aww @ChlOeWh so frustrating!
Try walking up and downstairs sideways like a crab!
Fingers crossed for you x

ChlOeWh · 18/10/2020 10:50

Yeah it really is frustrating @Grumpy19 🙈 I'll give the crab walking a go 🤞🏼

Sorry to be nosey, but how come you had a sweep at 39 weeks?

ChlOeWh · 18/10/2020 11:49

@Hannah12345625 I'm not overly sure to be honest, every time my midwife has sent me up for a scan for growth dropping from her measurements it's been absolutely fine, I had 2 sweeps within 24 hours of each other and I'm not sure why 🙈 I'd love to give an explanation but unfortunately I can't 😂

I had a sweep on my due date and was 3-4cm dilated, had a bloody show too, and things kicked off at 40+5, quick labour though, was examined when I got on the birthing unit and was 5cm and within 90 minutes I was fully dilated and ready to push. Hope things kick off for you soon

Grumpy19 · 19/10/2020 12:21

How are you getting on @ChlOeWh?
Hope you're in labour or better still, cuddling a new born! Grin

ChlOeWh · 19/10/2020 12:30

Hiiii @Grumpy19 still nothing 🤷🏼‍♀️ buuuut had to ring the maternity ward earlier as I got sudden lower back ache and a fair bit of pressure down there.. I just have to keep an eye on it and if the back ache ends up coming and going or if the pressure increases I have to ring back up, I'm booked in to be induced tomorrow anyway 😂

Grumpy19 · 19/10/2020 13:28

Fingers crossed for you that you ho into labour this afternoon. Either way, you'll have your little baby soon! X

ChlOeWh · 19/10/2020 13:31

Yeah deffo! I think the back ache is coming a bit more often now and a bit stronger but I'm not 100% sure really, not in pain though xx

ChlOeWh · 21/10/2020 14:12

Hi ladies, sorry I've not posted!

Soooo.. I didn't make my induction yesterday 🤦🏼‍♀️
I ended up having her on Monday at 7:35pm, she was 7lb 10 and absolutely beautiful 💕
