Does anyone's partner smell different?

As the title says really, I'm coming up for 10 weeks and my sense of smell has become super human, but it also seems my other half smells different to me- not in a bad way, just different.
Is anyone else experiencing this?

Yeah, I had to send my DH for a shower after work because he didn't smell right.

Waitingforbabypage · 16/10/2020 09:31

@Disappointedkoala he hasn't changed his products, but suddenly it smells like he's using something like brut or old spice and he's not, he's using bodyshop shower gel and dove deo as always. 🤷🏼‍♀️ it's so weird!

Oh yeah. I couldn't stand DH's smell. He had to shower twice a day and change his deodorant lol..

ShalomToYouJackie · 16/10/2020 09:35

Yes! I'm 11+2 but since about 8 weeks everyone close to me has had a certain smell about them. I can't really explain the smell, it's just different and I don't like it!

LatteLover12 · 16/10/2020 09:37

Yes! I had my little boy 4 weeks ago & I still think DP smells funny 😆

Poppyismyfavourite · 16/10/2020 09:51

Yup! He skipped deodorant a couple of days and stank! I also "went off" the smell of my cat, who I normally love!
I'm now 22 weeks and still have a heightened sense of smell but both DH and the cat are fine again :)

Waitingforbabypage · 16/10/2020 09:53

Thank goodness I'm not alone in this.
The inside of the fridge makes me gag, I can smell cat litter ALL THE TIME! The bins have to be sprayed with anti bac each time I open it cos it stinks (even the clean recycling 🤷🏼‍♀️)
I'm just thankful that I don't mind the "new" smell of DH, its just different....wouldn't entirely mind if it reverted back to his old smell though, I liked it.

Hahaha yup

I purchased lots of new perfume when I was pregnant with my son. Hated all of it once I gave birth.

With my daughter i really could smell everything and I could smell me the most. I became super paranoid that I smelt. Unfortunately it took about 2 years post birth to calm down that time.

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 16/10/2020 09:58

No he just smells stronger, like everything else. One thing that did smell for ages was my carpets. I sprayed a fragrance thing on them before I found out and honestly for about 2 months I could have cried going in my living room. I wfh and a childminder so no avoiding it! I had carpet cleaners in and everything. Nothing worked. I'm 26 weeks now and its gone.

You know the worst for me was the dishwasher capsule.. I couldn't stand the one we used and I could only use Tesco's. The smell would stay on the dishes and would end up gagging even when serving food onto them. Kitchen was absolutely DHs turf through 6 months of pregnancy (you wouldn't hear me complain)..

bumblebee2233 · 16/10/2020 12:12

Definitely! So musky 🤢 and when they eat garlic its so bad!!
I haven't been able to have a kiss for a while, I'm glad he doesn't take it personally!!

I'm the same, I have to wear a facemask lined with viks to open the fridge! Extreme I know but ive been sick a few times from the wave of different smells coming from it!
Queenbee95 · 16/10/2020 12:43

Everything stinks right now! I’m almost 12 weeks.

My neighbours have lovingly left a few stinky bins at their front door (live in a flat) and god the mouldy stench coming from them is disgusting. Would it be rude to give them a note to take their bins outside, I swear the whole stair smells 🤢🤢

Whatwillsantabring · 16/10/2020 12:44

Yes, started when I was pg, never went. I now have a super sensitive sense of smell and really struggle with DH's smell.

babygroups · 16/10/2020 23:14

DH says I'm like a bloodhound. Was the same in my last pregnancy. In fact I think my sense of smell was still slightly better after giving birth than before.
I can smell when DS is getting sick for eg.
