38 week scan

I am 8+6 weeks and yesterday received my letter confirming my appointment for my 12week scan all good not my first pregnancy though it's been 10 years and some things have changed.

Today I received the same letter only for a 38week scan - is this now a thing? I was only aware of the usual 12 and 20 week scans unless there are issues where another scan is needed, I am low risk.

Can anyone shed some light on this or is this a mistake? Obviously I'll bring this up when I next seen my midwife but I won't phone as I know they are very busy.

Thank you

I would phone them, sounds like there’s a mistake, even if you were having a 38 week scan (which would only be for certain conditions it’s not the norm) they wouldn’t have sent it out if you were only 8 weeks. I’d ring as it may have been meant for someone else.

Sil had this and another friend at 38 weeks. I thought it was as they were having c sections but could just be the norm now
