Hiiii, I'm 39 weeks on Thursday and haven't had any signs at all that baby might be on her way.. no Braxton hicks, no cramping, no lightening crotch, no pressure! Just nothing at all 🤷🏼‍♀️
Her head has been down for about 10 weeks now and with my first being born at 37+4 almost 7 years ago I really thought this one would be early too!
I know the "she'll come when she's ready" but I'm so bloody fed up now and with near to no sleep I'm exhausted!
I know there's not much sleep when baby is here but it's so worth it and you can sleep on your back then 😂
Is it worth maybe asking my midwife for a sweep when I see her on Thursday? Maybe push for being induced?
She's been measuring as a big baby too with a large AC 😩 so my anxiety is a bit all over the place worrying if she'll get stuck etc..

Any advice would be really appreciated please 💕

They can't do a routine sweep before your due as far as I was aware and In my trust it says in my notes with a second pregnancy they can't do a sweep until after 41 weeks either so I think it's just a waiting game, tough I know xx

Grumpy19 · 13/10/2020 19:47

They can do sweeps for medical reasons but I'm not sure if the would on request. You could always ask though re bigger baby concerns.
My first two were both late my third induced at 39 weeks due to high BP so I feel your pain!
So, have you tried...
Pineapple
Hot curry
Sex
Clary sage
Long(ish)walks
Walking up and down stairs sideways (think crab )

I'm going to be induced at 40 weeks if this baby doesn't arrive beforehand so I have already book DH in for sex when I get to weeks.
😂
Good luck.

Hi I'm just jumping on as my baby has a large AC at 33weeks and wondered if they told you why yours does?

Really hope things start moving along for you soon tho..

ChlOeWh · 13/10/2020 23:19

Thankyou for your replies! 🥰

Honestly tried more or less everything but nothings working, it does seem to be "baby will come when ready" I'm just so fed up 🤦🏼‍♀️😂

@rykar no they never said why, just kept saying "very chubby waist" and "large abdominal circumference" about 10 times to me at my last scan 🙈

I am going for an early sweep at 38+2. But it’s because I’m previous c sec. I have a c sec booked for 5 days later, but I’m hoping the sweep and all the other labour inducing tricks mean I don’t need it!
My little one is big, and has a large AC measurement. They tested me for gestational diabetes, but it came back negative. They didn’t say what else could cause it x

sarahc336 · 14/10/2020 07:42

Yeah sorry I meant in my original post that they can't do a sweep before 40 weeks just because you ask for one but they can for a medical reason obviously x

kim160790 · 14/10/2020 08:45

Have you been checked for gestational diabetes that can cause large babies and will need induction on your due date x

ChlOeWh · 14/10/2020 09:03

Yeah I had my glucose test and everything came back normal, she must just be a chubs 😂😂 I have my midwife tomorrow and I'll be 39 weeks so I'm just gonna mention it I think xx

@ChlOewh hope one the deed happens baby is all fine and dandy :0) whenever u get going.. its pants the waiting game..

I'm waiting on my midwife calling me today as I'm stressing about the AC but by sounds of it she might just be a chubby monster.... I was tested for GD at 28weeks and all was fine.. but maybe another test is in order..

Alychloe · 14/10/2020 09:54

Well I’m now 39+4 today and feel the same..had to have an early sweep on Sunday as I got diagnosed with obstetric cholestasis over the weekend. Nothing happened over 24 hours so decided that I would give in and have sex for the first time since finding out I was pregnant haha DH was absolutely thrilled! Then after sex lost my mucus plug and a bloody show on Monday. Had twinges all day yesterday and now nothing today! I’m going for long walks all day and trying to stay stood up for as much as I can! These old wives tales don’t work for everyone haha.

Got another sweep on Saturday and will give sex one more try tonight!

ChlOeWh · 14/10/2020 09:55

@rykar yes I think mine might just be a chubby monster too 😂 which makes me worry a bit as my first was only 6lb7 and my midwife can't stress to me enough that this one is going to be "loads" bigger, just don't want her getting stuck😩
My midwife is a bit of a worrier for some reason, everytime I've seen her, that day or the next day I'm booked in for a growth scan because her weight has dropped or it's "not right" and every time she's been absolutely fine 😂 just got a large AC 🤷🏼‍♀️
Let me know what your midwife says about the AC, if that's okay? Then tomorrow I can let you know what my midwife has said about the AC too xx

@Alychloe ah well I hope things get moving more for you!! 🥰 I tried sex over the weekend and absolutely nothing happened 🙈 this baby is definitely a stubborn one!! The waiting game is rubbish isn't it?😩

OP posts:
Alychloe · 14/10/2020 10:03

@ChlOeWh it really is rubbish! Especially when you see things happening like losing the mucus plug because you think ohh any day now and then each day goes by and nothing haha! Hopefully we won’t be much longer 🤞🏻

ChlOeWh · 14/10/2020 10:16

@Alychloe yeah I think I've been losing my plug for weeks now 😂
I wake up every morning thinking "today's the day" and then nothing 🙈
Yeah fingers crossed we don't have to wait much longer!! 🤞🏼

OP posts:
rykar · 14/10/2020 10:37

@ChlOewh yea of course I will if she ever calls me back.. but im being impatient only left a message at 0830 lol

My friend lost her plug Tuesday morning.. then midnight was 2cm went into hospital went for a walk waters went in the corridor and baby was their at 2am... but this is her 3rd baby..

Ftm and I dont think mine will be that smooth..

Good luck ladies!!

ChlOeWh · 14/10/2020 10:42

@rykar well I hope you don't have to wait too much longer, it's nice to have your mind out at rest as soon as possible! 🥰
Ah wow! I'm sure everything will go smoothly for you, try not to worry! Easier said then done I know 🙊

OP posts:
rykar · 14/10/2020 17:54

@ChlOewh my midwife never called me back.. 😡 im hoping she may call tomorrow.. could have been busy.. but doesnt normally stop her and did check that she got my message.
Hope all goes OK at your appointment tomorrow

ChlOeWh · 14/10/2020 18:24

@rykar well that's a bit shit tbh, it could have been really important? I'll ask at my appointment tomorrow and let you know xx

OP posts:
rykar · 14/10/2020 19:30

Yea I know.. I dint think the CMW team are that interested in South East

rykar · 15/10/2020 11:05

@ChlOewh finally spoke to my midwife she isn't concerned.. she said it could be just a big baby, and they are going to check GTT again..

ChlOeWh · 15/10/2020 11:06

@rykar ah well that's good news☺️ I'm just waiting for my appointment now so I'll let you know how it goes xx

OP posts:
rykar · 15/10/2020 13:10

@ChlOewh hope all goes ok at your appointment ☺

ChlOeWh · 15/10/2020 13:55

@rykar yeah appointment went well, 3/5 engaged by the sounds of it! Just currently up at the hospital as my midwife wanted her movements checked and the growth again! She's also told me to encourage them to give me a sweep today but that doesn't look likely if I'm honest 🤷🏼‍♀️
