I've been prescribed 2x400mg after two MC. My consultant says to take it until I'm 13 weeks but does this mean exactly 13 weeks or 13 weeks and 6 days?

I stopped just after 12 weeks – was told to stop at 12 weeks but I carried on taking till I ran out. Was a bit worrying coming off it but I think by that stage your body is producing all the progesterone it needs.

I stopped at 12 weeks too

I was using it due to IVF treatment. I wouldn't eorry too much about the days, it's usually used untill the placenta takes over supporting the baby, I was told at my 8 week scan (you usually only gey those with IVF) that my placenta was fully developed and I could stop the progesterone. As I've had previous miscarriages, I had a discussion with my consultant and was allowed to keep taking it until I was just over 12 weeks but it was made very clear to me that I no longer needed it.

By the time you get to 13 weeks the placenta will be very fully formed and doing the job of producing progesterone, the odd days here and there won't matter much at that stage. 12 weeks is usually the longest it can take for placenta development.

That’s really informative that’s @Pinktruffle. I’m having an 8 week scan this week. I’ll ask if they can see my placenta yet
