Hi everyone, I’m really hoping someone can help me out here because I’ve never experienced anything of this sort and I’m really worried.
My husband and I are TTC and for the first time ever I’ve missed my period. My cycle can go from 28-33 days on average but I’ve never missed it and I’m only 21 so I’m starting to worry. Never had kids before and am hoping to have one within the next year but all these negative tests and the missed period are starting to make me worry. I’ve used different brands and different types, clearblue digital, clearblue early, FRER, superdrug early. All negative. I was tracking ovulation through an app so maybe I ovulated late?? My husband is convinced I’m pregnant because I have almost all the symptoms but all the negative tests are making me wonder if there could be another problem and I know stress can hinder your cycle so I’m trying my best to avoid overthinking!! My boobs are a lot bigger than usual and very tender, frequently urinating (tmi), vomiting, nausea, sensitivity to smells and a weird taste in my mouth. Not sure if that’s enough to go by but really hoping someone has an idea!! And please let me know if you’ve had similar experiences and what the outcome was, thanks xx

Hi OP, it sounds similar to when I was TTC first DC. Stress most certainly played a part. Between work and uni and exams, we tried for nearly a year, used BIllings method, ovulation kits, pregnancy tests, missed periods, I even demanded GP to test me and hubby.... Nearly drove me mad. We then decided to 'take a break', DP quits his stressful job, we booked a long holiday, I got my degree and gave up obsessing over counting days and testing my wee every 5 seconds, we conceived that very month.

You are so young, and periods being regular previously, unlikely you developed a problem suddenly. Try not to think too much of it all (easier said than done), TTC should be enjoyable!

2 weeks missed period should light up even a pound shop pregnancy test if you are pregnant. Maybe you ovulated later, maybe you had a skipped month, just test once weekly to stay sane! If you and hubby had TTC regularly for a year, then arrange to see GP to get some baseline checks for both of you.

Good luck!

I highly doubt I am at this point, you’re right. I’ve been spotting all day too, just hoping this is AF finally making its arrival at this point. And you’re right about the stress that’s probably what hindered the cycle, I’m a lot more relaxed now just hoping that all is well so we can go back to TTC and I can stop obsessing over this situation. Will let you know how it goes, thank you! xx
