i'm 14 weeks pregnant was told at 8 weeks was threatened miscarriage as was bleeding and severe pain, although had scan this week at 14 weeks and all ok (fingers crossed).

however i still keep having the same bad pain on my left side then feeling a pressure pain in my groin, then resulting in a small clot which is either pink or reddish.

daren't call dr or midwife as i know theyll send me to hospital and i cant as dp working. (i'm home with ds 16 months)

any advice??

Callt eh hosptial and take your son with you. No one here can help and will only tell you the same thing.

Hayleyandbaby · 12/10/2007 11:46

good look babywhiting, you need to get yourself off to the hospital. Ring your ante-natal ward and explain you're coming down with your ds.

Crossing fingers for you. Though you should be fine.

tomps · 12/10/2007 11:46

Please at least speak to dr or midwife - if you explain you can't go to hospital right now they can probably sort out something for you once dp home. Or is there anyone who could look after ds for couple hours while you go and get some reassurance ?

DoctorFrankenSquonk · 12/10/2007 11:46

I agree - you should ring dr or mw and let them send you to hospital - can dp come home and look after ds? or is there someone else that can mind him while you go?

You need to get this checked out immediately.

DANCESwithHughJackman · 12/10/2007 11:47

Goingfor3 - you are right but harsh.
Babywhiting - You do need to go to the hospital with your ds. Don't worry they'll have this happen all the time with people bringing their children. Take a bag of toys and lots of snacks. Go pack now and good luck, I hope it's nothing serious.

babywhiting · 12/10/2007 11:47

thanks not sure how to take that just wanted to know if i was over reacting?

Or is there a community midwife who could come to you - longshot I know...

DoctorFrankenSquonk · 12/10/2007 11:48

you're not overreacting

It may well be nothing and they can just reassure you and send you home again, but it might be something serious, so you need to get it checked out straight away.

LilBloodRedWantsGore · 12/10/2007 11:48

Agree with the others. Call DH - if he really can;t leave then take DS with you. Please do not put your health or your baby's health in jeopardy because you don't want to cause a fuss!

If it is any reassurance, I bled at four, 15 nd 26 weeks with DD and she's now 17 months old.

LilBloodRedWantsGore · 12/10/2007 11:49

You are not overreacting at all honey.

babywhiting · 12/10/2007 11:50

i'm put off hospital as i was in there 4 1/2 hours at 8 weeks and didnt see a doctor in all that time was left with my 2 dc in tiny play room. then had to get dp home from work to pick up dc no 3 from school.

the only advice is to go to doc or MW or straight to hospital

passing clot and pain at 14 weeks is not normal

not to say pregnancy won;t continue, but you must be checked out urgently.

take your DS with you if needs be, but this is urgent

sorry to be blunt but you need checking out

can a friend or neighbour or family member not help? i;m sure if DP told work the problem they would let him leave now

babywhiting · 12/10/2007 11:53

i bled all through my last pregnancy and ds 16 months was fine , told not to worry last time still get same pain this time but get the clots instead. dp says just rest and dont worry.

OP posts:
LilBloodRedWantsGore · 12/10/2007 11:54

I'm sorry, but you need to get this checked out. Your DP sounds like he's trying to reassure you, but you do need to be checked out by a sonographer or midwife.

Lulumama · 12/10/2007 11:56

sorry, but your DP is not qualified to make any assessement, neither are we, but it would seem sensible to go and get medical help.

it might be placental, in which case it needs looking at

please do go

pain and bleeding and clots are not normal part of pregnancy, even if you bled before, any loss needs investigating.

i doubt you will have a relaxing weekend otherwise

MerlinsBeard · 12/10/2007 11:58

the very least you can do is ring your midwife

babywhiting · 12/10/2007 12:00

am phoning mw right now!!!

OP posts:
LilBloodRedWantsGore · 12/10/2007 12:05

Good luck BW.

babywhiting · 12/10/2007 12:09

well i can either wait and see if i pass any more in the few hours and go to see mw in the morning as shes booked me in for mw surgery. or i sit in a & e for 4 hrs + what a choice?

OP posts:
Lulumama · 12/10/2007 12:11

i would sit in A&E , personally, and get seen today rather than tomorrow

MerlinsBeard · 12/10/2007 12:14

i would sit an wait as well

the wait may not be that long and will only be longer ta weekend or later on

make a pacdked lunch and take toys and snacks and drinks with you

goingfor3 · 12/10/2007 12:54

DANCESwithHughJackman you are right I am being harsh and am sorry for that but it's only because I've lost 2 babies and feel it's really important to get things checked out quickley. Sorry again.

RobbiesGirl · 12/10/2007 13:29

it is definately important put yourself and your unborn baby first i lost my first baby, and cannot explain how important it is to make sure everything is ok....as it is not only your baby at risk, but you are too.....please i8f for
nothing else but byou and your baby please go and get checked....the sooner the better... your hospital will be fine with your ds going along if you can't get a baby sitter at short notice, and surely if you told your dp you were going to hospital then his work will allow him to go with you...

MerlinsBeard · 12/10/2007 13:30

have you gone?

DoctorFrankenSquonk · 12/10/2007 13:31

it's been a while since she posted, I hope that means that she's at hospital instead
