Hi ladies,

I hope someone can shed some light!

Yesterday late afternoon/evening I experienced what I can only describe as dull period like aches. Baby moving fine so I thought it was just from where I’m growing and stretching and thought i’d just see how I got on. When I laid down and turned over to my left side to go to sleep I noticed a sharp stabbing pain in my left ovary and figured all the period like aches and this stabbing pain in the ovary was most likely a cyst.

I slept well last night but woke up this morning with more intense period like aches so decided to call the hospital.

They put me on a monitor and baby seems fine and he is moving around lots.

Whilst in hospital I had gone to pee twice and there was a tiny dot of blood on the side of the toilet pan which looked like a tiny bit of lining or tissue that had come away.

With that and the cramps, they have decided to keep me in overnight to observe.

They have ruled out pre term labour (they took swabs and said they had ruled that out) and everything seems fine with my cervix and with baby.

However I still have these dull period like aches and I’m scared after seeing the blood.

They haven’t scanned me, it doesn’t look as though they are planning to and the doctor didn’t seem to convinced that it was a cyst because she said the pain would be a continuous stabbing pain in one area as opposed to a dull period ache all over lower abdomen. Which makes sense.

If anyone can offer their opinion, I’d appreciate it!
