No embryo seen

Anyone have any ideas on those had a scan yesterday and the sonography ended said there’s no embryo, want to see if anyone has had a smile or experience which was misdiagnosed?

How far along are you?

Have you been diagnosed with a Blighted Ovum or is too early to see anything?

I’m 7+5 the day the scan was taken (yesterday) and am due back in Monday for management and a further scan. Diagnosis was likely early pregnancy loss

They didn’t specifically say blighted ovum

Clinging onto hope as much as possible. It’s so cruel to have all the pregnancy symptoms when there’s no embryo 😢

I was told this recently at a scan at 9+4. I wss so shocked and it was devastating. Had a scan a couple of days later at the EPU which confirmed the same. I then miscarried naturally last week at 10+4. Look after yourself, it's a very sad situation xx

Also to say that it is thought that 50% of miscarriages that take place before 12 weeks are anembryonic (the old term was blighted ovum but now its anembryonic pregnancy). Agree it's awful having all the pregnancy symptoms for nothing - I had terrible nausea from 6 weeks until about 8 weeks or so.

I was diagnosed with a blighted ovum in October last year, I chose to have medical management and then had surgical management afterwards. It does feel really cruel, especially when you have symptoms.
