Hi all,

Just looking for some advice as I'm confused and a bit lost. I've called EPU but they said it'll take a few days to call me back and I'm going crazy.

On 7th Sep, 4 weeks after my last "official" period (6th Aug) I took a PT and got a faint positive. 4 days later, I had massive bleeding with clots and tissue, made me bedbound it was so bad. EPU told me to wait 2 weeks and take a test, but they couldnt do anything else for me. I did the test (26th sep) and the line had gone (now I'm questioning it). Skip to just under two weeks later to yesterday (9th Oct) and Ive been feeling crap all week, so took another test and got a VERY strong positive.

Now I'm questioning whether

  1. Im still pregnant from before (if so, why did I get a negative 13 days ago)?...

  2. Its a new pregnancy, which is possible as we have BD'd (if so how how is the test so strong when its been hardly any time)

  3. its residule hormones still in me (if so, how has the test gotten stronger).

Any experinces or advice before I hear back from EPU would greatly be appreciated. Ive atta hed pictures of my tests.

Hi. Its hard to tell with your negative test being a different brand but that's a really strong positive. Maybe try a clear blue with the weeks indicator that may give you a better idea? I suppose you could have ovulated on say the 23rdish of Sept and its a new pregnancy which would explain the negative and the postive being so strong xx

Dodgy test, false negative I'd say. I agree with pp, if you can get a CB digital that can tell you how far along you are 😊

@Bubbabell i think you were pregnant the first time and had an early MC.
I ovulated spot on 14 days after my loss, so you could well be 14 or 15 dpo too which makes sense for a positive test like this.
When i was pregnant and it ended in mc the line were faint even at 15 dpo because i implanted late i think.
In this current so far successful pregnancy i had very strong positive from 13 dpo. So i wouldn't be surprised if this was a new pregnancy!

Best of luck x

False negatives are extremely common

Thank you guys... its unsettling to not know whether Im around 9 weeks or 4 weeks. We bd'd unprotected for over a year and never got pg. That couple with the OH and his ex never being able to have children. We had just assumed maybe it would never happen for us. So now, to have potentially 2 pregnancies within a month is shocking.

What makes things worse, I've been up sinse 5am staring at my phone waiting for EPU to call. They shut at 12:30 so at 1pm I went for a shower thinking they werent gunna call now, only to come upstairs 10 minutes later to a missed call from the hospital! Called them back and it just goes to thier out of hours answering machine, so ive had to leave a message and wait for tomorrow now! Shock
