Pre-eclampsia for the second time???

Hi

I was wondering if anyone has had pre-eclampsia in their second pregnancy after having it in the first?

I had it a few years back during my first pregnancy and had to have an emergency C section at 34 weeks. My baby was premature 6 weeks and spent some time in NICU. My blood pressure was through the roof hence it went straight to a C section!

Now I am 21 weeks pregnant with my second and really worried incase it happens again.

Has anybody else had it for the second time? My hospital are keeping an extra eye on my blood pressure this time round but I just can’t help worry. I really don’t want to go through what I went through the first time round.

Thanks in advance!

22 weeks with my second and also very nervous that I might get pre-eclampsia again in this pregnancy. They’ve just got me on aspirin for that and no extra checks (but have check ups for other things) or had my BP done since my booking in appointment 😶

Very interested to see what responses you will get so just here for a nosey!

How did you first find out you had it? My hands have become swollen at 32 weeks and getting worried...

I went to a routine appointment and the midwife said my blood pressure is very high and sent me to the hospital straight away. After several hours no sign of it going down they had to do an emergency C section at 34 weeks. I did have quite abit of swelling leading up to it so I would keep an eye on your blood pressure if you have any worries ring hour midwife x

Fingers crossed we don’t get it second time round
