Has anyone had this during pregnancy or after birth. I was devastated when after a trip to hospital I was told I had clots in my lungs, 3 weeks after giving birth to my LO. I'm now on meds and trying to recover at home, just wondering if anyone else been through this?

Hi OP. I haven't experienced this, but just bumping for you really and because I'm interested in the answers too. That must have been a horrible experience. Did you go to hospital feeling breathless or something when it was discovered. Do you have any of the risk factors for this? How are you feeling now?
Congratulations on your new baby x

4 weeks pp with my firstborn I was diagnosed with clots spanning from my knee to belly button, but didn’t make it to my lungs thankfully. A bit different but similar in a way.

I was on tinzaparin for 9 months (due to breastfeeding and the tablets not being licensed for breastfeeding mothers) before I got the all clear. Been on blood thinning injections since 9 weeks in my current pregnancy as a precautionary measure - 22 weeks right now - and have to take them up to birth as a minimum

I had mine a couple of months after. Ended up having thrombalytics and a week in hospital and then on warfarin for a year. Was very tired for a while but 8 yrs on and have been fine ever since.
Very weird periods on warfarin and headaches. Also diet was too varied and they had to keep changing my dosage weekly. First time I’d ever been told to eat less veg!

Thanks guys..
@Somethingsnappy I had excruciating shoulder and rib pain one day, I put it down to being muscular and breastfeeding so strain on my back etc, but the next day it was worse and I was short of breath. Went to A&E and my infection levels in blood were very high, so they admitted me and did a few scans including lung scan, that's when they saw the clots..I'm now on blood thinners for the foreseeable future
