Sorry for super long link and if this has been done but...

www.change.org/p/partners-allowed-for-entirety-of-labour-birth-in-all-hospitals?recruiter=false&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=facebook&utm_campaign=psf_combo_share_initial&recruited_by_id=1fd5f360-08da-11eb-b10b-775453725602&utm_content=fht-22857079-en-gb%3A0

This is a petition to allow partners in throughout induction and birth (not just from 4cm!)

Done!!!

Grumpy19 · 07/10/2020 21:35

Thank you!
I'm quite likely to end up with an induction this time and I really hate the thought of being without the support of my DH.

JellyBellyBeGone · 07/10/2020 21:40

No worries. Tbh I hadn't heard much about this but if it were me I would be so disheartened by it. I hope it all goes well for you!

FingersCrossedForAllOfUs · 08/10/2020 21:27

Thank you for sharing this, I’ve signed.

Onekidnoclue · 08/10/2020 21:30

I’d be happy to sign a petition for partners to be allowed to attend all of labour but this petition also support partners being able to attend all MW appointments and scans which would be lovely normally but I don’t think is something I want to support right now.

Sorry OP. Hope your induction goes well.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 08/10/2020 21:33

every trust makes its own rules/ mine now allows partners, not that they advertise it but I asked. The visiting hrs on the ward have also been extended- my poor friend in another location is stuck on a ward with no Visitors allowed and waiting to be induced- signed!

JustAddCoffee91 · 08/10/2020 21:37

Done thanks for sharing

Babyvibe · 08/10/2020 21:38

I've signed. I had my induction alone, took 6 days in hospital hope your allowed someone there with you!

alphabetti · 08/10/2020 21:45

Thank you for sharing. I too am facing possible induction and really don’t like the thought of having to be by myself. Also I would have really appreciated having someone there to support me at scans and finding out I have diabetes and baby was growing smaller than expected. When you’re faced with that and talking about possible premature inductions it’s a lot to take in.

scotgal99 · 08/10/2020 22:53

Signed. I’m in Scotland though so it’ll probably be different rules...as with everything else. Due next month & crapping my pants at the prospect of my husband being kicked out after birth & no visitors.

Teakind · 09/10/2020 08:07

Signed. I had a very long and stressful induction followed by a quick and traumatic birth. Luckily my DH was with me the whole time but I think the overall experience caused my PND.

I'm pregnant again and the thought of going through that without my DH honestly terrifies me.

rincewindspotato · 09/10/2020 08:17

Thank you for that. Signed with pleasure

Mommabear20 · 09/10/2020 08:22

Won't be signing as as long as they are there for birth (and I do wish scans as well) in the currently global situation, I don't believe it's vital for them to be at every appointment as much as it would be nice. Only appointments where it's about the baby!

RustyCat · 09/10/2020 10:39

Signed for sure. 100% agree to be there for the full labour and birth and afterwards. Being there for the scans too 100%! I had to go for a scan on my own in April where I was told baby had no heartbeat and would result in a MC as baby had stopped growing at 5.6 when I was meant to be 9 weeks. It was devastating to have to so that on my own without my DH to comfort me or hold my hand. We need to have someone with us for the scans and birth 100%

whiskersonkittenss · 09/10/2020 10:45

I thought only petitions started on the Parliament website were taken further. Sorry if I'm wrong

PinkPlantCase · 09/10/2020 10:46
