Iโ€™ve had a notification from NHS app to self isolate for 9 days ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

Mococo1 · 03/11/2020 20:52

@LittleRa ah that sucks having to self isolate ๐Ÿ˜–

@blodyn91 yay for team blue! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™ and congratulations on having the house offer accepted! Feel like it's been a long journey so glad things are looking up on the house front for you and OH!

@Mrsi2020 cute scan pic!! ๐Ÿ’•

@Bl0ndi3 how are you feeling now? It's normal to be anxious but it could just be that the worst of your symptoms are over, not long to go for the scan x

Bl0ndi3 · 03/11/2020 21:03

@Mococo1 I'm okay, I am just getting impatient and anxious I think. I'm still absurdly sensitive to strong smells (good and bad) and yucky stuff makes me heave. My friends in my original TTC group were discussing CM this morning and it made me actually sick lmao. So I'm not symptomless or anything like that... boobs still sore but not as bad as they have been.

10 days to go and I just need to know whether little bean is safe and okay now it's driving me mad! Im petrified of being told it stopped growing and I've lost another. I was talking to OH about it and just cried when I actually admitted how scared I was.

LittleRa · 05/11/2020 08:19

Good morning everyone! Hope youโ€™re all doing well. Quiet on here at the moment- I think weโ€™re all in sort of in-betweeny stages with not too much going on? Patiently (or not too patiently!) waiting for our next scans and appointments?

Iโ€™m self-isolating after getting a notification from the NHS app. Itโ€™s only my second day ๐Ÿ˜… Iโ€™ve got 7 more to go.

News is Iโ€™ve bought my pram!! ๐Ÿ˜

Bl0ndi3 · 05/11/2020 13:20

@LittleRa oooh what have you gone for?!?

I think we have a few scans coming up in November I think:

@Ltay2 9th November / 20th November
@zippityzip 11th November
@Mococo1 12th November
@Sophi123 12th November
ME - 13th November
@mrsmummy1111 16th November
@blodyn91 20th November

@littleRa 21st November
??

I'm quiet for sure as I'm just trying to get through to my scan now I'm struggling with the wait haha! I'm glad I've got Christmas and a gender scan in between the 12 and 20 week scans!!!!

LittleRa · 05/11/2020 13:27

@Bl0ndi3 My one on 21st is a private one I booked so I could take DD along, Iโ€™m thinking it may get cancelled due to lockdown Sad or if theyโ€™re staying open they might say only I can go, not DD. So if thatโ€™s the case I will see if theyโ€™ll rearrange it for after lockdown...

Busybee143 · 05/11/2020 13:30

@Bl0ndi3 I have a gender scan on the 12th ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

Bl0ndi3 · 05/11/2020 13:35

I think we need @SmileyT to work her magic with a new updated list ๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ˜˜

LittleRa · 05/11/2020 13:37

For the pram, a bit boring but Iโ€™ve actually got the same one I had with DD Grin Sheโ€™s 6 now and I didnโ€™t keep any of her stuff, as I split from her dad, we sold the house etc. Itโ€™s the 2020 version- itโ€™s the Silver Cross Wayfarer. We looked at others, but we both liked this one and I was happy with it last time- and itโ€™s so easy to get bamboozled with all the features and choices so I just thought you just have to make a decision otherwise you can go round in circles for ages. There was another one I liked, Oyster 3 I think it was, but DP didnโ€™t like the handle as it was uncomfortable on his wrists apparently ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ
It has smaller wheels so is a bit more โ€œurbanโ€ than the all-terrain type that the lady in the shop told us about, but I think thatโ€™s fine for us. Iโ€™ll mostly be using it for the school run, walk to shops, walk to the sea front (15 mins walk), walk to baby groups if any are on, so thatโ€™s all paved. Whereas for more rural walks I feel like weโ€™ll use sling/carrier, thatโ€™s what I did with DD.
I got the whole bundle- so carry cot, pram unit and chassis plus car seat, iso-fix base and car seat adapters then a few random bits that come with the bundle like cup holder, rain cover and changing bag.
Picture attached- colour I got is Clay (aka dark Grey!

@LittleRa thatโ€™s lovely! I had the oyster 2 and hated it!!! Well thatโ€™s a lie it was ok, but it wasnโ€™t worth the money. Iโ€™m going for the icandy peach! Xxx

Bl0ndi3 · 05/11/2020 14:11

I think pram wise I'm going for an oyster 3 with a lie flat car seat and not bothering with a carry cot just want the pushchair and I'll be getting a sling/carrier

Like the oyster 3 because it folds small with pushchair attached and the pushchair can be used from birth as it lies flat too.

Back ups though are the mnps ocarro and maybe the icandy lime

Going to look for a second hand pram I think too x

LittleRa · 05/11/2020 14:20

@Bl0ndi3 Thatโ€™s what I liked about the Oyster 3- the way it folded flat with the pushchair attached! It was a contender for me, I donโ€™t know what DP found uncomfortable about it ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ Heโ€™s tall though, 6โ€™ 2โ€ so maybe the handle just wasnโ€™t a great position for his height.

LittleRa · 05/11/2020 14:20

@Mrsi2020 The Icandy peach looks lovely! What colour will you get?

Bl0ndi3 · 05/11/2020 14:24

@LittleRa I need to go to the pram place near me to have a proper look and see how we both feel about the different options

LittleRa · 05/11/2020 14:28

@Bl0ndi3 We actually just stopped randomly for a quick look round on the way home from somewhere else on Monday last week (half term) and Iโ€™m so glad we did- like you say itโ€™s so much better to see them โ€œin personโ€ and get a feel for them, push them round etc and get a demo from the staff. The reason I got it on Monday is with the shop closing for lockdown (theyโ€™re open for telephone orders) I was panicking as some have quite a lot waiting time from the manufacturer! Some of the Mamas and Papas ones had a 20 week wait!!! The one I got has a 4 week wait and the shop will store it until I want to pick it up.

Bl0ndi3 · 05/11/2020 14:35

@LittleRa wow 20 weeks!!!

Yes I definitely need to see some prams in person because I don't want to just go off reviews and descriptions online need to feel it for myself!

There's a big pram place near us so we will go there just after Christmas and see what they stock - might be convinced to buy one if there's good deals on in new year.

If not I have alerts for Shpock and Facebook marketplace for an oyster 3 already haha and will see which pram I want after giving them all a try! I think Argos stock the oyster 3 too so I'm hoping if that's my chosen one after a test drive I can get my hands on one easily enough xx

Bl0ndi3 · 05/11/2020 15:35

Also window to the womb are still allowing one adult to attend with you to scans so hopefully all private scan places still allow one person with you xx

Mrsi2020 · 05/11/2020 16:00

I am going for the black peach with black frame. My oyster was the black frame and it looked so smart. I found the oyster low for dh but also when in actual use it was nowhere near as sturdy as it felt with a newborn in it. Everything is easy to push empty lol. Altho they change them all the time so hopefully theyโ€™re better now. I love the bugaboos but dh hates them haha. I like a big bulky sturdy pram tho ajd I know size is an issue for most people. We have an smax car so plenty of room woohoo xx

LittleRa · 05/11/2020 16:15

@Mrsi2020 The pram shop I went to had these like beanie baby things in the shape of a child (roughly in the shape! More like a gingerbread man!) in different weights eg 5kg, 10kg, that you could sit in the pram while you pushed in around Grin

Mrsi2020 · 05/11/2020 16:58

@LittleRa that is so clever! Altho the floor is still smooth and usually flat and carpeted ๐Ÿคฃ im a Sceptic. I was burned paying big money for a pram that I ended up disliking after loving my icandy. I went to a stroller way sooner than I needed to with the oyster and that has put me off; I like using the big bulky pram 90% of the time and stroller for holidays etc. Some people are the opposite and far prefer their strollers xx

FairyLights2 · 05/11/2020 17:25

Hope all you lovely ladies are doing well. I found out the gender today! You can add me to team blue ๐Ÿ’™

LittleRa · 05/11/2020 18:15

@Mrsi2020 True about the floors. The lady said they will carry them outdoors to try to fit in your car boot but canโ€™t push them outdoors in case the wheels get scratched. This is why Iโ€™ve got the same one this time as I got last time- I know I liked it, had no problems with it or the pushing, job done. I also got a cheap umbrella fold stroller from mothercare for holidays- so handy for the airport, take it right up to the departure gate etc. I used that for holidays and travel from 5 months to probably just under 4yo for long transatlantic journeys!

@FairyLights2 Congratulations! ๐Ÿ’™

There are a lot of fireworks going off around here currently ๐Ÿ˜ณ Anyone else?

Ltay2 · 05/11/2020 18:42

I am going for the Cosatto Giggle Quad pram, loved it since I saw it online. Never tried it out in person but not too bothered as read and watched a lot of reviews and can't be bothered traipsing round loads of shops ๐Ÿ˜‚ fireworks are horrendous tonight, feel so sorry for all the poor animals. My cats are ok for now snuggled up in bed with the curtains closed โค๏ธ

Also Ultrasound Direct are still running all scans with one adult guest allowed. Does say no children but I think that refers to additional people to the one adult so worth checking!

Bl0ndi3 · 05/11/2020 19:37

@Mrsi2020 apparently the oyster 3 is a complete overhaul of the 2 so it's loads better. Hoping I love it in person!

I think prams look smart all black too!
Oyster do a grey frame though which looks smart with the grey pushchair. Think I'll go black though as car seat will be black too.

blodyn91 · 05/11/2020 20:33

@LittleRa oh how exciting! I had thought about waiting till after Christmas. I want the bumble ride Indie (off roadie pram so I can run with it later). I might contact the shop about pre ordering! Don't really want it in the house yet, especially with moving.
Also going for black hopefully or a very dark green to get the whole travel system.

@FairyLights2 welcome to team blue ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™ its equalling out now!!

Yep loads of fireworks! cat is under the spare bed, dog is a bit calmer. One bark earlier but he is really good.
So my abs have started coning when I put too much stress on them (press ups/ planks/ sitting up from lying down) so need to remember to roll in and out of positions now, and no more press ups ๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿฅณ (ab coning causes worse diatis recti - ab separation post birth, so keep an eye on it!)
