I need help, my friend has been put on medical suspension (full pay at 28 weeks due to being more Vulnerable at work as works with children in nursery setting)
I also work in a nursery. Asked my midwife which is same community just different lady and she knew nothing and said I'd have to go on sick. I love my job but I'm struggling mentally with all the Covid scares etc. Anyone any advice?! Thank you in advance..

I work for a school so might be different to a private nursery. Schools have to do a risk assessment for you, and the current medical advice that the risk assessment should be based on will say that you should work from home from 28 weeks. If you can't WFH, they should medically suspend you on full pay. They aren't allowed to make you take sick leave or take maternity leave early.

Are you part of a union? They are really helpful. Your employers have a duty of care towards you and your unborn child.

Thank you for clearing that up, no we have no union due to it being a private day nursery. I may ring citizens advice so I can go with real evidence if that makes sense!! Thank you for the help!!
