Bleeding at 8 weeks and scan tomorrow - hand hold needed

Hi all, you may have seen my other thread about arranging a scan at the EPU due to some bleeding I’ve been having. The appointment is tomorrow morning at 10 and I just sort of need a hand hold, I’m so scared of getting bad news. I’m 8 weeks and this is my first pregnancy, I also have pcos.

I’ve had brown discharge on and off since I found out I was pregnant, and went for an early scan at 6 weeks (which measured slightly earlier but all was ok and showed a heart beat).

On Friday I had some bright red blood on the tissue when I wiped, I was hysterical as it was so red and a fair bit on the tissue although nothing on my underwear. I was told to put a pad in and monitor. There was nothing on the pad but I did get more red on the tissue when I went to the toilet Saturday morning and Monday lunch time. In between it went back to light brown discharge.

Now it seems to be slightly darker brown like the end of a period, and a tiny amount of brown on the pad (which I’ve been wearing for 2 days.)

I have had one tiny clot on Saturday morning with the red, but it didn’t appear to be tissue as it broke down easily, I wondered if it was just because it had sat in my vagina overnight.

This bleeding has fallen at the time my period would’ve been due (I had implantation bleeding during my first missed period, and this is when my second one would’ve been).

I haven’t really had any cramping, I still have sore boobs and feel tired and got 3+ on a clear blue yesterday even though I know this can be misleading as symptoms and hormones can hang around... I guess I’m clutching at straws and trying to figure out what might happen, but I will only know after my scan ☹️

Just need a hand hold really and maybe if anyone has their own experiences of similar, honesty appreciated. Thank you

Good luck OP. I was there mopping up blood and clots when this happened to my DSis one morning. She went on to have a healthy and happy pregnancy and her DD is now 17 years old Smile

@Cafeaulait27 good luck today lovely xx

Hey all, it’s bad news. No heart beat. They can’t confirm miscarriage on the first scan if it’s under 7mm, it’s measuring 5.5mm. So they have to rescan in 10 days but it’s just a formality really, and will probably be to check everything has passed.

I really wanted to be one of those people where it’s all ok. It was really horrible cos at first they said they could see a heartbeat but then said they couldn’t, and it’s way too small for 9 weeks which is what I should be now.

So now I just have to wait for the poor little thing to come out.

elane8701 · 22/10/2020 13:22

So sorry @Cafeaulait27. I had the same thing happen to me about 5 weeks ago. I was 8 weeks pregnant, first child, and confirmed heartbeat at 6 weeks but no heart beat later on. It is heartbreaking. I also have PCOS. We will keep strong together and things will get better for us ❤️
