Any recommendations for nursery wallpaper/murals? Hardly any in shops and I need some inspiration as we want to start our baby girl's nursery soon 🥰

I recommend Pinterest. It's a brilliant app to scrapboard ideas for room decor etc.

Thanks all! I will take a look at Pinterest and also the thread you shared @peachypetite
@BeingATwatItsABingThing love your tree, I have grey and pink in my head. Decisions decisions.
Thanks again!

@hellymum21

Thanks. I painted the tree and the butterflies are rose gold 3D stickers. Their wings fold.

hellymum21 · 07/10/2020 07:37

It's really pretty!! Did you paint the tree free hand ?

Yeah I did.

I assume you're making the smallest bedroom a nursery? If you are planning on having more children and putting any future babies in that nursery and moving your current DD to a bigger room then I'd make it gender neutral so you don't have to redecorate. So, e.g. if you were to do a tree like Being's gorgeous example just make rainbow coloured butterflies rather than all pink and have white or green or yellow rather than pink sheets. Because when you are pregnant and have a toddler you will be 1000 fold more exhausted than you are now and won't want to have to completely redecorate. Better for the environment as well to future proof your decoration plans.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 07/10/2020 10:24

I would agree with @CountFosco if you are planning more and to move their room.

Ours is our smallest bedroom but for our DD2 and we’re not planning any more. It’s only the replaceable stuff that’s ‘gender specific’. Everything else is just white or grey.

DD1 has a pink Disney castle painted on her wall so whoever moves in after us is going to hate us when they try and paint over it. Grin

I bought safari decals, I’m having a surprise and the nursery is a big room but agree about doing it gender neutral!

AlviesMam · 07/10/2020 10:30

I've ordered my flower wall art, bunting etc from Etsy.com Grin

I got dumbo wallpaper from dunelm for one wall and colour matched the grey background for the paint because it was quite a difficult colour to find and saved messing around trying to find one that matched perfectly. The Dumbo pattern has pink in his ears so rather than all grey, shes got light pink curtains and lamp, and i got a grey and pink cloud rug from wayfair. I love her room

hellymum21 · 07/10/2020 10:46

@Gin4thewin love the dumbo theme! @BeingATwatItsABingThing so talented I don't think I'd make a very good job!
We are thinking greys maybe with some pink/mint/sage green colours. It's not the smallest bedroom as that one is directly above garage and it's a bit colder. We aren't planning any more....famous last words 😂

Here’s my baby girl nursery. Not quite finished yet as have a bamboo mirror, hanging ‘girl power’ placard/flag and prints for above the cotbed in order. Wanted something colourful but not overpowering. Love just going to sit in there! She’s not due until beginning of Dec but like to be prepared!

@peachypetite @AlviesMam I like the idea of decals too, there are so many nice ones and I've only just started looking!

@LouDew where is your shelf from Smile xxx

LouDew · 07/10/2020 10:51

@AlviesMam it’s from Ikea. Think it was about £12...can’t quite remember as we bought so much from there!

hellymum21 · 07/10/2020 10:55

@LouDew that's lovely, very pretty! I love the shelf too!
