Is anyone else working up until their due date and traveling to london?
Any worries about COVID?
I’m only getting SMP and work as a chef, I want to try to work as late as possible so I can spend more time with my baby once he is here but am already struggling at 28 weeks with sciatica, back ache and very very tired. Now with the added worry of COVID and getting on the tube every day I am starting to question this, anyone in the same boat or have any advice?
Thanks!

I planned to commute till 38/39 weeks. I had a 2 hour commute through London but stayed at work a few nights. I had HBP, water retention and worries about pre-eclamlsia and gdb. In the end I had to take some holiday so stopped earlier.

On reflection.....the HBP should have been enough for me to say - this is too much. I put my baby and myself at risk. I could easily have been signed off sick because of it. But I was determined to carry on...to get all my maternity leave after.

With further 2 kids I had no commute, no high pressure job and no high blood pressure.

We can't all be superwoman. We shouldn't have to prove ourselves. I absolutely get your point about wanting as much time off after as possible. But if it impacts yours or the babys health then stop earlier. If you are fine and baby is fine then crack on.
