Hi everyone,

Hope everyone is doing well.

Are there any vitamins required post delivery for recovery or breastfeeding purposes?

Please advise.

Just vitamin D is fine.

Breastfeeding mothers are advised to take vitamin D. Depending on your iron levels in pregnancy you might also consider an iron supplement.

I had left over prenatal vitamins after a purchasing error so I'm still taking them. I compared the prenatal and breastfeeding vitamins and found the only real difference was the breastfeeding ones had more calcium in so I have bought calcium tablets. It's probably unnecessary, breastfeeding does deplete your calcium stores but they are quickly replenished afterwards.

The only vitamins you and baby need is vitamin d, and baby only needs that if you are breastfeeding. The vitamin d for babies comes as drops, a lot of them you have to give 0.5mL Baby d drops however it is a single drop on your nipple or clean finger which is much easier to administer!!

Thank you for the suggestions. Smile

Will buy vitamin d only then.
