Well within the normal range!

NoNameToday · 11/10/2007 14:09

Looks fine to me.

FrankAwenstein · 11/10/2007 14:10

Think it is fine Pecka. Had my GTT test this week and the first blood was 5. The normal range is between 4 and 7 mmol

PeckaRolloverAgain · 11/10/2007 14:10

GREAT

Gestational diabetes was something that has been worrying me - phew! Thanks

Yes this is fine dh is diabetic and has always been told that it should be between 4 and 8 so don't stress.

Both our dd's like to let daddy to their blood sugars and dd1 is always around the 3 to 3.5 mark but the gp says not to worry so 4.4 is fine.

PeckaRolloverAgain · 11/10/2007 14:11

Frankawenstein - is it still fine even though it was practically a fasting sample? I had only had a few sips of blackcurrant juice in the 12 hours run up to the test?

4.4 after fasting is perfect, DO NOT WORRY!

PeckaRolloverAgain · 11/10/2007 14:15

Great thanks

Just my iron levels to worry about now LOL

you had juice before test! Mine was 5 when i had starved from midnight and test was 9ish. Had water and that was all i was allowed before.

hoxtonchick · 11/10/2007 14:16

what's your iron?!

PeckaRolloverAgain · 11/10/2007 14:17

Awen - it was just routine 28 week blood test not GTT - I hadnt been told not to eat and drink just so happens I only had juice!

Iron 9.5

oh Thought it was gtt test. Nah blood sugar levels sound fine to me.

hoxtonchick · 11/10/2007 14:18

spatone is calling you then....

PeckaRolloverAgain · 11/10/2007 14:19

Yes, onto the next question!!!

Am taking 2xspatone a day, cut right down on tea and upped iron rich foods - thats all I can do yeah?

FrankAwenstein · 11/10/2007 14:21

sorry if i offended. Was jealous you were allowed more that water. Hated the gtt, just presumed that was what you had.

Ah well, preg hormones abound

hoxtonchick · 11/10/2007 14:23

big tick, gold star .

Naetha · 11/10/2007 15:22

Drink orange juice with your meals - vitamin c helps the absorption of iron

PeckaRolloverAgain · 11/10/2007 17:12

Awen - I hadnt taken any offence - just read back down to see if I seemed off!

Big pregnant kisses xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx!!!

I'm diabetic and would be very chuffed with a fasting blood sugar of 4.4! Mine vary between 1.3 to 23!!! Pregnancy certainly doesn't agree with diabetes.

Plus non-diabetic or non-GD women can have lower blood sugars - it's the high ones you need to worry about. A low BS is not an indication of GD.
