Just curious-I has ds1 at 36 weeks and ds2 at 35 weeks. Now at nearly 40 weeks with a girl and absolutely no signs of labour whatsoever 🤷‍♀️. Really thought she’d be here by now... What was your experience?

DD (DC1) 3 days late
DS (DC2) 3 days early

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 04/10/2020 07:48

DD1 - 40+5
DD2 - 40+2

I was 40+6 and DSis was 12 days late. Haven’t got boys myself or brothers but DH was induced 5 days early and BIL was born at 42 weeks.

I think babies just come when they come.

I wouldn't think sex would be a factor. Moreso your lifestyle at the time. Did you have a more active/busy life with your DS'?

Dyra · 04/10/2020 09:12

This is my NCT group, and my sister's experience.

DNeph: 42+1
Girl 1: 37+1 (pre-eclampsia)
Boy 1: 40+1
Girl 2: 36+4 (obstetric cholestasis)
Boy 2: 41+0
Boy 3: 41+3
Boy 4: 40+2

We found that girls make you ill, so you have to go early, while boys stick around.

Quercusrobur · 04/10/2020 09:19

That’s my theory out the window then 😂.

FTMF30 I guess I’ve been doing less physically this time round due to lockdown, could be a factor?

Just wish I hadn’t taken mat leave so early thinking she’d be like her brothers, quite bored and impatient now... And hugely uncomfortable 😣

Thanks everyone
