Stretch and Sweep at 38 weeks

I’ve been booked in for induction at 39+1 ... due to high blood pressure, I managed to put it off until then as I was first offered an induction for my anxiety and high BP at 37 weeks so on a personal level I’ve done quite well...currently 38+2 and really hoping it’ll happen before then.
Has anyone had a stretch and sweep this early? I don’t know what to expect really, I’ve had an examination and was told the head is very very low but declined the s+s at the time but I have agreed to have one in a couple of days before the induction date.

I went in for an induction because of preclamsia. They did a stretch and sweep at 37 weeks for me but unfortunately it didn't do much to help. The induction didn't work either but may be because it was still quite early so I had to have a csection. Hopefully it will all work out for you, it doesn't do any harm and you are already far along, may help to just get things going before the induction.

I needed to be induced before 40 weeks in my pregnancies due to a late loss and previous complications.

With DD2 I had a sweep at 38+0 weeks and was told 50% chance I'd go in to labour that week. Nothing happened. Went in for planned induction at 39+0
Got a sweep on the induction ward whilst waiting for induction to begin. Went in to labour naturally a few hours after the sweep and no need for induction!

Went something like this:
3pm sweep
6pm contractions
9pm requested gas and air on the ward
11pm moved to delivery suite
5am DD2 born!
