Worried about line progression

Hi all,
I got my BFP last Sunday at 10dpo which obviously is very early and have been testing each day since although I'm aware that hcg levels usually take 48 hours at least to double.

I've attached a photo of my tests, I'm 14dpo today and AF has stayed away (usually have a short luteal phase of 8-10 days) but I'm concerned the lines don't look to be getting darker...

The 13dpo test with the cross on seems the darkest which I took yesterday evening on a 3 hour hold but this mornings clearblue with fmu looks much lighter!

@Amethyst2502
You must be spending a small fortune on tests!
Why don't you just retest in a few days time to ensure a more accurate results?
They say to not test every day x

I think the fact you're trying to compare lines on different brands is confusing the matter even more. The only two brands there that are the same are the clear blues and IMO the line on those has gotten darker in 48 hours. Get some Internet cheapies if you want to test everyday (I did, I get it!) And test every other day with same brands, I'd personally opt for First Response.

Congrats on your pregnancy.

You have 4 different types of test there. Each type will have a different sensitivity so you won't get consistent results.

Also a HPT is designed to tell you if you are pregnant but not how pregnant you are. Line progression doesn't really mean anything as to whether a pregnancy is viable or not.

Welcome to crazy town. The bad news is, you’ll drive yourself mad doing this. The good news is, I did it too so I feel you. Here’s my “line progressions” from 2015. I had some bleeding and did this to reassure myself. I wasn’t reassuring myself, it made my anxiety worse. Put the tests down, keep calm and think positively. Nothing you do or don’t do now will make any difference. My lines that I was convinced weren’t progressing is now 4yrs old and in school learning phonics- the chances are it will be fine. Don’t buy any more tests and good luck.

Line progression isn’t reliable, especially when you’re using different brands and testing a different times of the day! Please try to stop worrying (I know it’s easier said than done).

movingonup20 · 01/10/2020 15:21

Please take this as kind advice. Stop testing and just wait. Take prenatal vitamins, light exercise and avoid alcohol but otherwise get on with living. The pregnancy will either fully establish or wasn't to be and honestly there's nothing you can do but stress won't help. I do think these tests you can use so early are not helpful, causes so much anguish.

I truly hope it's congratulations. Try and take one day as it comes

ivfbeenbusy · 01/10/2020 15:27

You need to have used the same brand tests (preferably) from the same pack to be able to compare line progression effectively x

Bl0ndi3 · 01/10/2020 15:29

I agree with PPs you need to be using the same brand to even consider line progression as you're using tests with different sensitivities and all sorts so the progression is unreliable.

Personally when I got my BFP I used FRER at first and ICs to track the progression because it comforted me after a MC. I also used the weeks tests to get 2-3 and 3+ and when I got that I stopped.

My advise is to order some ICs and just use them and stop comparing different brands to each other x

Best thing you can do is step away from the tests, they are designed to tell you whether you are pregnant, not how pregnant you are. You will drive yourself crazy worrying about it

Lozz22 · 01/10/2020 15:39

I'll never ever trust a line progression ever again! Previous miscarriages my tests had been so faint they were barely visible so with my 4th Pregnancy I tested daily and watched that second line get stronger and stronger to the point it was pulling dye from the control line. Automatically took that as a good sign. Little did I know I'd walked round for weeks thinking that everything was perfect when in actual fact I had a dead Baby inside me

Bl0ndi3 · 01/10/2020 15:43

I don't think it's ever a case of line progression = successful pregnancy but it's a comfort to some

With my MC My line progression wasn't great and the weeks tests didn't progress past 1-2 weeks by 5/6 weeks, so for me that was a sign the pregnancy wasn't progressing as it should and I feel much better this time around with a perfect progression.

I am still anxious about my scan next week as I know it isn't all rosy even if there's nothing to suggest bad news, but for me any bit of reassurance is good so I'm not worrying if I don't have to be.

If you wanna test OP you test xx
