Work accidentally started my maternity leave early

I was meant to start my maternity leave October 5th. They offered me furlough starting September 1st which I accepted . I have a toddler who I was happy to spend extra time with and I’m exhausted anyway . My due date actually isn’t until November 16th and I’m taking an extra early maternity . My last pregnancy I worked up until I went into labour and regretted it a bit .

I received my payslip for September and they accidentally started my maternity leave September 1st . I’ve emailed payroll and my boss . My boss apologised and said he would look into ASAP . Today he got back to me and apologised . He messed up . I work for a small company and our payroll/HR lady isn’t in until Monday . He won’t have any more info for me until then .

Can a mistake like this be reversed ?

@MichelleOR84
Your boss will just have to pay the government back, then pay you your normal salary.
Just remember, it's their mistake, so stay strong and put your foot down xx
