Has anyone recently done this I'm in my second trimester and can't make it to my gp appointment so have to go to a pharmacy

I rang my GP surgery last week and was told they were vaccinating the over 65s first and that I should call them in a few weeks. I've read that there could be a shortage so I might have to go to a pharmacy too

I had mine done (free) at Boots (in third trimester). It was v easy. But I know there are shortages around and so some people are struggling to get appointments.

Yep very easy - but book quickly

Thanks everyone for the replies I called right away and they said I should come down so I got it 🥳

I had mine done at Lloyds pharmacy, I'd booked the kids in to have theirs the following day & they got cancelled due to a shortage of jabs.

@kkr168 it's getting so annoying that there's shortages hopefully your children get theirs soon ... I'm even trying to get my partner booked in right away before my pharmacy gets a shortage also I'm so glad I got mine done

Trying to get one through my GP has become a nightmare. Couldn't get one at all last year because of their ridiculous appointment rationing system.

So much easier to go to a pharmacy.

MnM156 · 29/09/2020 16:54

My surgery is short of the vaccine as well. They have asked me to call next week to check but I guess I would have to get it done from the pharmacy as well.

I had one booked at Boots yesterday (booked about a month in advance) and they cancelled the day before.
I ended up ringing around a few local pharmacies and in the end found one that hadn’t yet run out. So my advice is just to ring around. Good luck x
