Placenta at the back ? Meaning ?

Today I found out I'm having a boy 💙💙

Absolutely thrilled but he would not co-operate with the sonographer to be measured so I have to go back in 3 weeks.

She mentioned , there's nothing she is worried about. She also mentioned my uterus is at the back & this was good

I forgot to ask her what it means , as I'm often speechless in scans as I'm fascinated watching the screen

Does anyone know what this means ? I'm quite curious

Thanks

It doesnt really make any difference. It means the placenta is attached to the back wall of the uterus, by your back, rather than the front wall by your belly. This means you may be able to feel movements more clearly than women who have the placenta at the front. You could find out more by looking for "posterior placenta".

It means you have a posterior placenta, its just position of the placenta
