Mamas and papas - stand. can anyone help

Oh wise folk of MN.

I have a mamas and papas travel systems. It has a car seat, pram that doubles as a carry cot and a pushchair all of which fit onto a chassis (sp). I'm sure you know the system I mean. Think its called the 5 in 1.

What I am looking for is a carry cot stand. I know I can buy a new one from mamas and papas but a £70.00 it is a lot for my budget.

Does anyone know of anywhere else I can buy one? Hopefully quiet a bit cheaper

I don't mind getting a second hand one but I'm not having anyluck.

The thing is I am planning to use the carry cot as bed (which it is designed to do, with the addition of a proper mattress) But I have a terrible back injury and it would be so useful for me to not have the carry cot on the floor.

Does it have to be a m&p one? would a cheapy moses basket stand do? I know you can get them for about a tenner.

Depends how long you were planning to use it as the main cot I suppose. If for a while its probably worth investing in the real thing as its really important that its stable, specially when bub starts to roll about and pull themselves upright. Having said that, you can probably buy a proper, full size cot for not much more than £70 (try argos or somewhere like that)

Hi, on the same kind of subject, i was wondering if you can buy mamas & papas carrycots on their own? I have a chassis, car seat and seat unit bt was wanting a carrycot this time round. Tried to email mamas & papas but they never got back to me.

Thanks in advance if anyone can help me. (sorry for hi-jacking!)

Get a cot, which you would probably have got anyway and put the carry cot into the big cot. It will be far less easy to get knocked over etc.

I had a mamas and papas one, bought for about £25. It rocks from side to side and you could change it to take larger/smaller carry cots/cribs. I don't mind selling it if you wanted it.

Going on school run now.

Let me know

Newcm

Please don't be offended but have you tried Ebay? I know there is often a stigma attached to buying second hand but there are some new items listed aswell and I am sure you should be able to find what you are looking for.

Thanks guys

well you see the problem is I am thinking that we will probably be rooming in for the first few weeks if not months.

As we will be staying with my parents the room is not huge and a cot would not fit.

The other option would be have DC in the room next door which would be fine, accept that my parents do have friends to visit and would need this as a guest room. Particularly as I am sure my DH father and step mum will come a visit shortly after baby is born.

We all get one, so not nearly as bad as it sounds!

thanks starrynightsky. I have looked on ebay but most of them are coming as a complete package. Don't worry you haven't offended me, i just couldn't find one so thought i might have to buy brand new. Think i will just have to keep my eye on ebay and hope something comes up. Thanks

What about a travel cot.

I use one at my mum's but i have got a proper cot mattress cut to size so that it is more comfortable then the thin one that comes with it.

StaryNightSky

I've been looking for one of these as well but haven't found any cheaper than pretty much RRP - I've scoured ebay, NCT 2nd hand sales etc but no joy so far.
I think it's just a matter of luck if one comes up....
