Hi

FTM so sorry if it's already been asked, but which is the best brand of nappies?? (UK if that helps) x

It really depends on the shape of your baby. We use cloth but most of my friends who use disposables use a supermarket own brand. The consensus seems to be that pampers aren’t worth the extra cost.

BumpLoading · 28/09/2020 14:31

Supermarket own brands are just as good as pampers imo. We have had more leaks in tesco ones though so tend to stick to asda, morrisons, sainsburys or aldi (depends what shop we are near when running out)

Napqueen1234 · 28/09/2020 14:36

First baby wore Aldi as cheap and where we shopped. Second baby is like the bloody queen wouldn’t BF only ate the extortionate formula and every nappy other than pampers leaks almost immediately. Definitely can’t afford more kids after this one. ( get pampers from costco!).

RMarieClaire · 28/09/2020 14:38

We use cloth in the day and pampers pure at night. I would recommend buying a pack of own brand or pampers and seeing how you get on. You'll discover what works for you when you meet your bub.

I would also recommend researching cloth if it's something you're interested in. Saves money in the long run and saves a huge amount of landfill.

Frazzlerock · 28/09/2020 14:43

If you're looking for cloth, try The Nappy Lady website, there's a questionnaire on there so you can find the right brand/fit for your lifestyle/baby.

We will be using cloth when our baby arrives in Nov and I can't wait! I've become a bit obsessed Grin.

Asda and morrison's nappies are fine, I'm currently using asda on dc2. Sainsburys, lidl and boots a bit better. Ive not tried aldi because its too far way. Tescos really not great. Pampers are as good as every other nappy but pricey.
You may find the brand you use changes. DS needed Sainsbury's early on to contain poonamis, lidl as a toddler as they don't leak, now he's in asda nappy pants.

Poodlessitonnoodles · 28/09/2020 14:52

Iv got an 8 week old and for us I’m finding the boots, sainsburys and aldi own brand the best. I didn’t rate the Asda or Tesco’s ones and had a sample pack of pampers which were fine but I don’t think worth the extra money. Boots and aldi also do own brand biodegradable baby wipes which I like.

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 28/09/2020 14:55

I work with young kids and sainsburys, Asia and aldi ones all seem to be favourites. When mine were young I always found pampers the best but I haven't had my own in nappies for 5 years so things seem to have improved.

Inthesky42 · 28/09/2020 14:57

Aldi newborn were the best imo but size 3 upwards they are rubbish! Recovered sainsburys for size 3 upwards, they've got a stretchy bit at the back which has saved many a vest from a poosplosion! I use pampers baby dry overnight as they always reliably last 12h overnight with no leaks, but they are expensive

Dyra · 28/09/2020 14:59

I loved Aldi in the newborn sizes. So cheap, and decent quality.

Aldi is merely ok sizes 3+. They're no better than any other own supermarket brand nappies. Pampers Baby Dry are pretty meh, leaked more than once. Eco by Naty leaked every single time. Even newly put on ones somehow.

Pampers Premium are where it's at. Bloody expensive, but I buy in bulk wherever I find them on offer

addictedtotheflats · 28/09/2020 15:01

Ive found most ok, apart from Lidl, didnt get on with them at all. I find aldi and asda little angels my go to. My mum gets me pampers when she visits when they are on offers but tbh they are all much of a muchness

India999 · 28/09/2020 15:08

Pampers and boots own. We've always had leaks and early mornings with Tesco and Asda X

greenemerald · 28/09/2020 15:13

Eco by Naty were really bad for leaks. Use Asda own brand which are good.

Disappointedkoala · 28/09/2020 15:28

Aldi for us. Their sensitive baby wipes are great too.

olderthanyouthink · 28/09/2020 15:29

Tried Sainsbury's, morisons and aldi, aldi was the best of that lot but poonamis still happened. Stopped when we swapped to cloth

Mynotsoperfectlittlefamily · 28/09/2020 16:44

I've found Pampers Pure followed by Pamper active fit pants from size 3/4 to be a good choice. This child I have had no more than 3 leaks since birth hes now 14 months.

Loz1093 · 28/09/2020 19:35

Thank you so much for all your advice! I think we'll give Aldi a go when she gets here, but yes I've never even thought about shape of baby! X

We used mostly cloth during the day and Lidl at night.
The Naty ones leaked when we tried them.
