BFN 4 days before AF :(

as the title states, really..

I'm currently 4 days away from AF, and just got a stark white BFN on a FRER 😟

Should I give up now, is there still a chance?

Feel a little bit deflated!

You're a bit early for testing. Supposed to test on the day its due for more accurate results

Mimba1 · 28/09/2020 14:27

Give it a few days - it still could just be too early. Longer cycle, late implantation, slower HCG increase... there are a few things that could cause that. But sadly it might just be that this isn't the month. After 3 years TTC I started refusing to test until 1wk after AF was due (assuming it hadn't arrived) but I know that's easier said than done. It's horrid waiting and being disappointed every month. Fingers crossed for you.

@dementedpixie thanks :) I thought I'd give it a go having had some strange 'symptoms' but will give it a few more days, it's hard knowing what could be a symptom of pregnancy and what may be AF!

@Mimba1 thanks for replying ☺️ I think personally that I'm out this month. We DTD as much as we could during ovulation, days leading up to, the day of and also a day after - but not sure it's done the trick this time 😣🤷‍♀️

Testing too early @waitingforbabynumber1. I was a negative at 9DPO, a flying positive at 13DPO

waitingforbabynumber1 · 28/09/2020 14:36

@TheDaydreamBelievers thank you, that's given me a little more hope to hold on to! It's so hard going through the TWW each month!

Out if interest - has anybody experienced any 'symptoms' if that's even the right term for it..? 😆

I've had a wave of two of intense nausea today, it got me out of absolutely nowhere and I had to leave my office to get some fresh air.

Also had some low abdomen cramps throughout the TWW and veiny boobs and sore nipples..

Who knows?! 🤔😂

@waitingforbabynumber1 I would advise to never symptom spot in the TWW. The rise in progesterone towards AF has EXACTLY the same symptoms as early pregnancy. You'll drive yourself mad over totally meaningless symptoms!

waitingforbabynumber1 · 28/09/2020 15:05

@TheDaydreamBelievers good advice - thank you :)
I do feel different to usual AF symptoms but then again you never know if it's your body or mind playing tricks and emphasising things that you'd usually look past! 😂 x

@waitingforbabynumber1 I had a BFN at 10 DPO and a very clear positive at 14 DPO and all I had was a couple hours of nausea one night, I wouldn't read into any symptoms or the lack of them too much.

waitingforbabynumber1 · 28/09/2020 15:09

@1990shopefulftm oh wow! I bet you were happily surprised!

I think I've taken the BFN as gospel whereas I should probably keep onto some home that it could just be too early for me!

I will try again later in the week - AF is due in 4 days so perhaps try again then! :) xx

@waitingforbabynumber1 I was lucky that I got my BFP in cycle 2 (although I had mega post pill cycles of 141 days and 47 days so been trying about 6 months). However, next time I am TTC I will be making sure I only test once AF is due. Testing too early just made me sad at a negative but also stressed that it might not be a TRUE negative. Which in the end is exactly what happened

1990shopefulftm · 28/09/2020 15:12

@waitingforbabynumber1 yes we were, I thought we hadn't timed it right at all that month and I turned out to be wrong.

waitingforbabynumber1 · 28/09/2020 15:26

@TheDaydreamBelievers wow that was super lucky! I had the implant for a long time but had it removed 3 months ago, waiting for a few AF cycles and this is the first month I've tracked and TTC so maybe I'm over analysing everything haha! My cycles haven't been completely regular and have been out by a few days here and there but on the whole I'm so glad they are back so soon after removal! X

I got a negative on a first early response on the day I was due and a positive on a boots cheapie 2 hours later. now 8 weeks :-)

waitingforbabynumber1 · 28/09/2020 19:05

@CMAYF11 ohh amazing! I'm trying to hold onto hope but it's so hard once you've seen such a neg test!!! X

I had a bfn with a frer at 13dpo. It was positive the next day.

waitingforbabynumber1 · 28/09/2020 19:30

@Turtleturtle81 that's given me a little hope thank you 💓
TWW is so hard! :(
