Any else just started mat leave?

Has anyone else started maternity leave and is now totally freaking out!? All of the sudden I'm panicking about if I'm even ready to be a mother! I've always been a career focused person, and so to go from being independent, always working to being a mum at home!? BAHHHH!!

Starting on Thursday. At the moment I am still in the 'oh this is new' stage, but I have a feeling I will have similar sentiment to you once the reality hits. Used to working long hours, but due to the nature of the job coronavirus provided a bit of a buffer of working from home recently (which, for me, is less intense that going in as there is a limit on what I can do from home). Unchartered territory!

When are you due? Im the same, my job is my world and I cant imagine not going in everyday. Im going to work right up to my due date.

I started today too! I’m 38 weeks now and am looking forward to a bit of rest. I’m having a haircut now and have booked in massage and acupuncture this week! Little treats/ plans each day will help I think.
I completely agree re the career/ mum transition it’s scary but I am just trying to look at it really positively and I think the time will fly by from what friends and colleagues have said. Enjoy yourself x
