Cramping after an internal 20 weeks

Hi all! Currently 20 weeks pregnant tomorrow and had a bit of a scare that my amniotic fluid was leaking so went into hospital today to have an internal exam.

In the exam they opened my vaginal walls using what they called a 'duck beak' type contraption and told me that my cervix is closed and that there's no leak (phew) Grin

Only thing is ever since I've had cramping, is this normal?

Thanks in advance Smile

Sorry to hear that OP.

No advice. Just bumping for you.

Hope all goes well and it’s all normal and fine.

@funnyrubberducky
I've just had what you had today, and I'm now cramping. It must be quite a harsh experience for our belows, but they found nothing major... so I guess we just have sit tight and hopefully it settles soon :)

@cat709 thanks for commenting! Makes me feel so much better knowing I'm not alone! The cramping has stopped today now thankfully! I'm hoping things will resume as they were before.

How far along are you? Flowers

@funnyrubberducky ah so hopefully my cramping will stop tomorrow!
I'm 19 weeks 6 days so I had to go to via A&E. if I was one more day, I could have gone straight to early pregnancy assessment ward, but they're very strict. I had loads of pink this morning then water. Scary, but mine was okay. Was yours?

funnyrubberducky · 28/09/2020 22:10

@cat709 so sorry to hear that! Mine was fine thankfully! I only went because I had yellow stains in my underwear and dampness so thought the worst as always! I'm such a worry wart
Wink

I'm glad you're okay now and hope you don't have anymore problems! I hope we both have peaceful pregnancies and healthy babies!!! Flowers

I know! They are annoyingly strict! My hospital is anybody over 19 weeks so it sucks that you couldn't go straight to the assessment unit Daffodil

That sounds very scary though. It doesn't help we can't have anybody at our appointments or scans. It's been tough and scary without my DP being there Sad
