Headaches - should I be concerned?

On Tuesday I had my 20 week scan and a checkup with the midwife. All OK including bloods and urine and got the whooping cough vaccine.
Since Thursday I have had a pounding headache that just won't shift and is constant. I thought it was maybe a side effect from the vaccine but I'm starting to get worried as I noticed this morning my wedding ring no longer comes off so I have very slight swelling of my hands. I was going to see if I could get an appointment tomorrow with the midwife however now I'm wondering if I need to do something sooner? My nearest hospital is over an hour away and my husband is away with work so I have no one to take my son for me.
I don't feel the baby move much but I have an anterior placenta and was told that's quite normal.

Im thinking you should call for some medical advice. In the meanwhile drink lots of water with a splash of orange juice (or something else with just a bit of sugar). And put your feet up as much as possible.

Also are your ankles puffy at all? Are the whites of your eyes still very white, are you peeing more than usual?

I will phone the hospital and see what they suggest. Been drinking loads (3-4l a day) which has mean I have been peeing constantly! Ankles and eyes both seem fine thankfully.

I had high BP at 38 weeks pregnant with my son and he was born 2 days later but with him I had stary vision but nothing like that this time

Im glad you are going to call. I think you need your blood pressure checked and your urine tested for protein and a UTI. Remind them you had high blood pressure last time as it often reoccurs in subsequent pregnancies
