Blister in bikini region -what is it?

I'm currently 36 weeks pregnant and in the last couple of days have noticed a lump which feels a bit like a blister. Its quite low down in the bikini area but on the front rather than underneath if that makes sense. Its a bit sore to touch but otherwise not painful, feels like its fluid filled rather than solid and is about 1cm across.
I dont think its anything to worry about necessarily, and if it hasn't gone away wheh I go to see the midwife this week I'll mention it then. Just wondering if anyone has experienced similar and either knows what it might be, or whether it went away on its own?
So much of pregnancy is beautiful, but some things are really not all that glamorous!

Could it be an ingrown hair

Oneandabean · 26/09/2020 11:25

Sounds like an ingrown hair. Pop a bit of Savin on it

Oneandabean · 26/09/2020 11:25

*savlon

I’d go and get it checked out, probably just an ingrown hair though

There is something called a Bartholins cyst which is pretty harmless

DrizzleandDamp · 26/09/2020 11:51

Could be a coldsore which is herpes. As you are pregnant that’s worth checking with the MW. Generally not something to worry about majority of people carry the herpes virus, but in pregnancy it can be.

It can be carried forever asymptomatically but a low immune system lets it flare up.

My first thought was Bartholin's cyst (not sure about spelling). I've had a few over the years and they're harmless and disappear by themselves. No harm putting on a dot of antiseptic or checking with gp/midwife.

Thanks for the replies. Savlon seems like a good idea, will give that a go and see if it helps over the next couple of days before I see midwife..

Fingers crossed it goes down on its own as quickly as it appeared.
