Cyclogest giving false symptoms?

Hi everyone! This may sound like a bit of a strange one but I'm not finding anything on Google so I thought I'd ask you lovely ladies!

A little back story: I am currently 10 weeks pregnant and have been put on to 400mg Cyclogest once a day to try and prevent a miscarriage after a loss back in Feb. Now my question is can Cyclogest give you false symptoms even if you have already miscarried? My paranoid brain is telling me that these pesseries are masking the fact I have miscarried because some of the side effects are very similar to pregnancy symptoms I.e. nausea, vomiting and sore boobs. Has anyone ever experienced this before? I realise this sounds mad but I'm so worried about being too positive about this pregnancy because I'm experiencing these things only to find out that actually there is no heartbeat again like last time.

Thank you!

I totally understand your fear and it has crossed my mind but my pregnancy symptoms have been quite different to the cylogest ones (I've had unsuccessful ivf with them before and you take them before the embryo is transfered).
I also know people who have still had obvious miscarriages on them so it doesn't mask them for everyone.
I'm sure every thing will work out for you this time Flowers

Hi @Chloeannexo

I’m 11 weeks pregnant and have been on cyclones twice a day since I was 7+3 after seeing a HB (I had a MMC in May earlier this year).

I had all the symptoms, sore boobs, immense fatigue and horrible nausea to the point I was sick twice a day.
I’m still on the pessaries, but around 10 weeks my symptoms disappeared, I have some cramping, but I’m extremely scared and worried about baby’s health.
I have my 12 week scan on Monday so —patiently— waiting!

Hi @reimah

Thanks for your reply! I also had a MMC in Feb so I know exactly how you are feeling! Try not to worry too much about your symptoms, remember you are getting to the point where they could potentially start to lessen so I'm sure its absolutely nothing to be concerned about!
Good luck with your scan on Monday, let me know how you get on! Mine is on Wednesday so let's hope it's a week for healthy babies!

I was on cyclogest 3x per day until 12 weeks and I have to say that I didn’t really experience symptoms from it - didn’t really feel sick until 9 weeks and by then I was sure it was the pregnancy so how you’re feeling is most likely pregnancy related

I was on cyclogest for IVF cycles it's synthetic progesterone so it might cause symptoms of pregnancy. I had a couple of pregnancy tests and a private scan at 11w before by 12w scan for reassurance. Hope all goes well!

@Chloeannexo I’d be interested to know how this worked out for you as I am in the same position. 7 weeks pregnant and on Cyclogest. Multiple MMC in the past. I feel like I have symptoms but I’m worried it’s the Cyclogest.

@LondonDanu Hello lovely I'm sorry for the slow reply I've not been on here in a very long time! I had a successful pregnancy and I now have a 2 year old which is mad to think of the how things have changed since I made this post! I got really mixed responses on whether Cyclogest could give you these symptoms but mine did eventually fade so I'm guessing it's probably just the pregnancy rather than the pessaries! I really hope it all goes well for you!
