Dying your hair?

I'm finding conflicting info online and just wondering about the risks of dying one's hair during pregnancy. Has anyone done it before? I usually just use a box dye from Boots, if that makes a difference. Thanks a lot Smile

Dyed it in the last pregnancy and have bleached and dyed it during this one. My only advice would be ventilate the room well as the smell can be even more overwhelming when pregnant!

I asked the midwife last time I saw her and she said it was fine. I'm getting mine done a week tomorrow and I'll be just over 6 weeks

I'm so happy to hear this- my roots are atrocious!

Went from brunette to blonde this pregnancy, and have another cut and colour coming up next week. All good so far (35 weeks).

I’d recommend a patch test even if it’s a dye you use normally. I had a horrible reaction to hair dye in this pregnancy (itchy, burning scalp for about a week!) after using a dye I’ve used hundreds of times before. I’ve also developed a dog allergy... weird pregnancy immune system!

Wow okay, this is great advice! Will definitely do a test. x
