Ovulating/AF after a miscarriage

So I had a surgical management for a missed miscarriage at 9 weeks which was just over 4 and a half weeks ago now, I still haven't ovulated on any OPKs that I've taken, my period also hasn't arrived yet, has anyone else had this?

I'm sorry to hear of your loss @Bubblegum20. When I had my miscarriage it took 6 or 8 weeks for my period to return (I can't remember for sure now), the EPU told me this was normal so they not to worry. My first period was a particularly heavy/painful period so just be prepared that that might happen.

Any chance you might be Pregnant? I conceived 2 weeks after my 3rd miscarriage

Hi @Bubblegum20.

Sorry for your loss.

I’m nearly 11 weeks past my second surgery for mmc.
My mmc was discovered in May and I had medical management, 3 weeks later I had surgical management and 4 weeks after I had my second surgical management. I had an infection as well.

It’s tough and I feel drained waiting for AF to arrive or a BFP. Doctors and fertility nurse are not concerned at the moment. They have a point when they say your body has gone through a massive trauma and stress can also delay cycle returning back to normal.

Fingers crossed you get BFP before your AF arrives xx

@Pinktruffle oh okay thanks for that, they did say it will probably be heavy/painful!

@Lozz22 we have been trying again, but as far as I know I haven't ovulated yet, I took a test on Monday and that was the first day it said negative after my miscarriage before that it was still saying pregnant on clear blue digitals! Congrats!

@TTCROYGBIV I'm sorry to hear that you had to have surgical management twice, it's horrible!

Aw thank you, I hope you get your BFP soon too, it's just a waiting game isn't it half the time, waiting to find out either way!

@Bubblegum20 I hadn't even realised id ovulated, just assumed I had a kidney infection because that's where all the pains were. It was only because I had extreme fatigue to the point I couldn't physically climb into the bath for a shower, had mega painful boobs, nausea and had totally gone off chocolate which for me was unheard of because I'm a chocoholic and on the day I did decide to have a hot chocolate to drink it tasted like it had gone off. I had to get my Sis to taste it to see if it was ok and she was like yep it's fine. Bought a couple of tests expecting them to be negative and nearly fell over when it came back positive. For days I wondered if it was just left over HCG from before but then I remembered my blood test after my 3rd miscarriage came back negative. Sadly we also went on to lose that Baby too. I will add due to PCOS I never got positive ovulation tests, but during my ultrasound scans during my pregnancy they discovered neither ovary had any cysts on them when on my PCOS checks I had about 11 on each. The only thing that was picked up was one ovary ( right I think ) was larger than the other. The sonographer seemed rather excited about that for some bizarre reason. Last month though for the very first time I did actually get my very first positive OPK which was fantastic only I'd waved my OH back off to Durham and we'd decided due to time and his driving hours we wouldn't DTD that night. You know those times when you could bloody kick yourself! Yep that was us that night!!

@Lozz22 oh really, I'm gonna take a test tomorrow then just to be sure! I'm sorry to hear that you miscarriaged! It's so weird all the little cravings and that isn't it, I completely went off chicken in my last pregnancy and I haven't managed to eat it since, still makes me feel nausea now, even all these weeks later, I used to eat it most days beforehand!

So sorry for your lossThanks
I was also so confused about what to expect after medical management earlier this year (also at 9 weeks). I ended up getting a positive OPK a few days after my pregnancy tests turned negative (which took 4 weeks).
Hopefully it will come soon for you!
I'm not sure if you normally get ovulation pain? (I never did before) but I found ovulation was painful ever since MMC so that's one to look out for. I read a few people were the same. Its not ideal but quite handy for knowing what's going on down there.
Also my luteal phase was much shorter than normal that month too, period came around 9dpo.
Good luck!

@Catslover I'm sorry to hear that you also had a miscarriage! Thanks for that information, I haven't had any ovulation type pain as of yet so maybe it still hasn't happened for me yet then!
