Chemical Pregnancy?

Wondered if anyone has had a similar experience to me? I ovulated on 07/09 (confirmed with temping), took a test at 11dpo but BFN. Then the day after at 12DPO I started spotting brown blood which turned into a full red flow for 2 days before trailing off.
Anyway I just assumed that was my period but my temps are still high so decided to do a test (well 5), all of them came out positive and confirmed with a frer and digi (1-2 weeks).
Could this be a chemical even though I tested negative the day before the bleeding or could it be implantation bleeding? This was my first bleed since my MMC in March and it has been a long time since I have had a natural period so unsure how heavy it should be (it was definitely red but seemed quite watery, no clots etc sorry TMI).

I have a scan on Monday with the EPU so I guess I will find out then but just wanted to know if anyone had a period like bleed before their BFP and had good news!

It doesn't sound like a chemical tbh. A chemical is positive tests that then go on to fade and your period comes. The fact that you've got positive tests after your bleed sounds positive to me.

Thanks @YouBoggleMyMind I guess I will find out at my scan on Monday...in the meantime i'll just hope my tests get darker!

My friend had this, lots of heavy bleeding, negative test, and she's now 20 weeks pregnant.. so fingers crossed for you.

Are your temps still high? How many dpo are you now? I’ve had two very early chemical pregnancies in the last few months. AF came around 14/15dpo both times. My temp plummeted the day I started bleeding and preg tests had gotten fainter over a couple days. 11dpo is a bit early to get a bfp. As long as you’re still getting strong positive tests and your temps still up I would have hope. Fingers crossed for you!!

I can’t confirm how many days after ovulation etc, but I had a 1 day bleed which I assumed was my period. It then stopped, I did a test 2 days later - BFN. Still no further period 3 days after that so tested again and BFP! DD is now 15 months. So I definitely had a short implantation bleed before my pregnancy.

@Em2210 yeah temps are still high, i'm 18dpo today but my tests from this morning are quite a bit fainter than 2 days ago which isn't a good sign, definitely still positive but a lot fainter. Guess the only thing I can do is wait the next couple of days xx

I'm not trying to sound negative here, just my experience. I have had a chemical and my tests were still positive during bleeding and didn't fade until around 4-5 days (and elevated temps) Eventually when the bleeding stopped I still had quite a faint line. Similarly with my miscarriage at 7 weeks I experienced strong positives and bleeding and elevated temps throughout until maybe a day or so after bleeding stopped. I'd recommend monitoring it and if your bleeding is enough to fill a pad in 1hr go and get checked out. Hopefully it will be good news though and not the same as it was for me as everyone is different. A positive outcome is 2 weeks after my miscarriage I ovulated and got pregnant - currently 24 weeks 😀

Hmmm a bit concerning if lines are getting fainter. As I believe they should be getting stronger with the hcg levels increasing. Unfortunately it is just a wait and see as everyone’s experiences and bodies are different. But it’s torture isn’t it! All my fingers crossed for you for Monday!!!

@Em2210 problem is they ahve said the hospital will test me before the scan and if it's negative they won't do a scan...which makes sense! I just want to know as meant to be going in a hot tub and a few drinks tomorrow...which obviously I can't do if pregnant so need to make an excuse!!

@fmturn Thank you for sharing, wow 2 weeks - congratulations on your pregnancy!! I waited 6 months post MMC to get my first bleed so really hoping this doesn't mess things up further

@youbogglemymind nothing yet, tests are still positive although not getting any darker, should no more after a visit to the EPU tomorrow x

@YouBoggleMyMind I had a scan on Monday, nothing could be seen so they took bloods. They were 36 on 28/09, 48 on 30/09 so not enough of a rise to confirm a viable pregnancy. Having more bloods tomorrow, think there are concerns it could be ectopic.

Oh @francis05 I am sorry to hear this. I hope tomorrow brings more positive news and it's just too early? Fingers crossed it's not eptopic. Here if you want to talk anything through
