Maternity leggings

I'm looking for some maternity leggings. Been very disappointed with my h+m ones which are see through and do not keep me warm. Looking like I'll be spending this whole pregnancy outside in the freezing cold entertaining my toddler and seeing family. Need to be thick, warm and not see through.

Love leggings- I had the same question on here and I’ve never looked back!

SospanFrangipan · 23/09/2020 20:37

New look! DS is now 3.5, and mine are still going strong! They come in great for period bloat 😂

I found the love leggings ones really good - got some shortie ones and regular length ones. Would say reg length run quite short (I'm 5ft 6) so depending on how tall you are consider the longer ones and washing once to see if they shrink.
But they're great thickness for winter, and not see-through at all! A little more expensive than H&M but I've lived in them through second and third tri and love them!

bobloblawlawblog · 23/09/2020 21:02

I'm hating the H&M ones too. They're also crazy long and I'm 5ft6 so not short.

Ended up buying two sizes up in high waisted from Tesco as an interim. Interested in the love leggings ones.

Warmth wise Primark do fleece lined leggings that are super warm- you could try sizing up in those?

applepieslice · 23/09/2020 21:02

Yep definitely Love Leggings - quality is amazing. Had ASOS ones initially but they were thin and ended up getting holes in them so I threw them out

FTMNOV · 23/09/2020 21:06

I've just brought some from very as they had a sale on and cost £15 for 2 pairs, they are very comfortable!

Oneandabean · 23/09/2020 21:07

I’ve got love leggings ones. I’m not a lover of leggings but they’re really comfortable and not at all see through. They have started bobbling a little on the inner thighs after a couple years of wears which is very disappointing. But the only ones that aren’t see through

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 23/09/2020 21:30

True about the bobbling on love leggings but I’ve yet to find a non see through legging that doesn’t

Cheesybiscuits01 · 23/09/2020 21:30

Thanks. Looks like love leggings may be the way to go. I like the sound of the fleecy primark ones but I'm only 12 weeks and my belly is so big already I don't think I could size up enough to accommodate it!

With love leggings what is the sizing like? True to size or size up or down?

@Cheesybiscuits01 I found them quite true to size! I've been in them since about 20 weeks and I'm 37 weeks and still in my normal size in the maternity leggings, but I prefer mine a bit tight for the support now as I'm dragging.

BuffaloCauliflower · 23/09/2020 21:42

I liked my Love Leggings to start, comfy and nice and thick, but they’ve all gone shit and folded at the waist elastic. You know how it folds up in itself length ways all the way round? So bunched and visible through clothing

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 23/09/2020 21:51

I wear my pre baby size in love leggings maternity

Mycrazylife85 · 23/09/2020 21:57

I can't bear any form of elastic and have struggled to get leggings that don't feel like my back is being torn open by elastic- even though you can get another person in them. I have pairs from New Look and they aren't see through I just can't bear the small elastic so can't wear them. I have a pair from H&M that is very comfortable that can fold over and I recently bought a few pairs from Lidl that are very comfortable but then on some days even the band is unbearable. It depends if you are okay with elastic or not I'd say. Even the slightest touch of elastic is painful on my back sometimes

LittleRa · 23/09/2020 22:02

I just got two pairs of maternity leggings from Lidl and they’re very comfy!

Mycrazylife85 · 23/09/2020 22:30

Yes @LittleRa I'd say they are very good, well made and very reasonable. Also better on the elastic front.
If I sound a little elastic obsessed- it's because I am 😂

@Cheesybiscuits01 Another vote for Love Leggings 👍🏻 Have lived in mine since about 18 weeks (I’m now 34 weeks) 😊 ordered the maternity ones in my pre-pregnancy size and that’s the size I’m still wearing now 😊 I find them so comfy that I’ve just ordered another new pair to pack in my hospital bag for after baby arrives 😊

Seraphine winter leggings - they wash and wear brilliantly. Highly recommend
