I have absolutely no clue what to buy for my baby. I was leaning towards one of those transporter systems but worry about constantly getting the car seat part of it in and out of the car. All advice welcome.

I would only use a carseat in the car not as part of a travel system.

We have the Mamas & Papas Aria (which isn't classed as a travel system but the car seat does clip into it). It's also suitable from birth and is very light. We're really pleased with it. Fits in our small car too

Oh and meant to say, the only time we use the car seat clipped in is if we're say going out for a meal and dd is asleep in the car seat when we get there iyswim.

I had no idea that things would be so complicated. It's like working my way through a minefield!!
So is the car seat part of a transport system not really very good then? Or is it just the awkwardness of having to keep taking it out that would make you not recommend them?

A baby should be in a carseat no longer than 2 hours. Why squash them up in a carseat when you have a lie flat seat underneath it on the buggy, it does annoy me!

We have a travel system and the baby was always happy in the car seat - was rarely in it for long, meant you could take her into the house still sleeping etc. The car seat was a perfectly fine car seat. It's personal taste as to what you want but one thing I did find useful was a big shopping section (what's it called - net? basket? sorry pg brain) at the bottom.

I have a jane slalom which I use with the matrix pro car seat, which i think is great coz can be put totally flat so baby is much more comfy when teeny tiny. And i find its really easy to push about town.
There are some great deals on the net if you google it, I saved over 200 on mine.
