Pregnancy and OHSS

I'm currently in hospital with moderate OHSS following a successful transfer.

I'm feeling absolutely terrible, with a painful distended belly and nausea. I can't rest for the discomfort and pain meds don't quite manage it. The idea of feeling like this for weeks is daunting, but obviously very anxious about the pregnancy.

Can anyone share their experiences in a successful pregnancy? How long did the OHSS last and how did you manage the symptoms?

Hey

Congratulations on your pregnancy.

Ive been there.
I got OHSS after 38 eggs and the clinic still going ahead with transfer. The reason i knew i was pregnant was because i starting bloating out at 5dp5dt so did a test and it was positive.
By 7dp5dt i was in hospital with moderate OHSS. Id put 12lbs on 2 days and i felt horrendous!
Like you i felt sick, uncomfortable, couldnt lay on my back as i couldnt breathe due to all the fluid, couldnt eat as i got full so quickly.
Luckily i didnt need it draining and was let home 2 days later but it took a further 2-3 weeks for me to feel ok. I had to have blood tests done every other day for 2 weeks and monitor my fluid intake and output.
When i went for a scan at 5w5d, my ovaries were still 12cm in size!

Never again would i want to be that poorly again so i understand how rough you feel.

It didnt affect the pregnancy and now, im waiting to wake my son for school.

Good luck and i hope you feel better soon.

No experience but sympathy, I remember how rough I felt after EC and that was with a freeze all round so I imagine you're really suffering. Really hope you start to feel better soon and can enjoy your pregnancy Flowers
